Tempted to get a Honda Fit...

But I don't know why! haha I've been into the whole "performance" Scene for quite some time, But recently I've been wanting just a nice looking car, with decent stance, A slight amount of power, and be functional, All this nonsense may have been stirred up by the fact that I snapped my axles at the track this last Friday , Anyways, I just had a few questions

I would be getting a white one no questions asked, I was just wondering if every year/model/trim comes with those color matched headlight housings? I'm not to big of a fan of them.

How fast is a fit sport with I/H/E+ a tune? I don't expect it to be blazing fast at all, being able to touch into the 14's would be nice though, But looking at a few turbo videos on youtube, these may be slower then I thought., nevermind, looked up the stock 1/4 My hopes don't look promising haha

How can I tell if its a Fit Sport and not just a Fit?

What are the major vendors you guys buy from? Just wanted to check out the aftermarket, and besides, browsing for parts for a car you may be buying is a rather good time waster if you ask me

Also if anyone has a white Fit with Grids on them post that fit in here right now!

From the exterior, Sports have a spoiler, fog lights, alloy wheels, and a body kit.

Inside, the Sport has cruise, keyless entry, and paddle shifters if its an AT

How about you share some pics or slips first. Smells like BS or troll. We have plenty of both around here already..

What were you trapping in the cobalt? Stock boost? What 60ft?

How did you snap the cv shafts? Too much tire? Too little pre-load? Too little clutch slip?

A 14 sec Fit will require some work obviously, but if you have the skill and knowledge to do more than bolt ons, it is certainly do able.

The SS/SC Ecotecs are mid 14sec cars with 260hp SAE Net @ ~2900lbs, what were you expecting the 2500lb/100hp Fit to do?

It was only my second time at the track with all the mods on, ran a 14.4 at 97, I know it can do better with my mods

Intake Downpipe Exhaust, GM Stage 2, Which is 42lb/hr injectors, 3.0 pulley and a shitty rich tune 7k redline, puts me at 15 psi, stock being around 12.5

Broke the axles cause too much wheel hop and I didn't get out of it quick enough, Atleast I'm hoping its axles, its sitting at the dealership atm

Sorry about the inquisition but we get a lot of BS boy racers here or trolls from other sites... and most of the regulars never even notice.

Wheel hop will blow your diff first, not the half shafts... did you even look under the car yet?

You've got your facts messed up, the SS/SC is only 205 BHP according to the factory, the SS/TC which is 08-10, has the 260

And I didn't think honestly haha, I guess the "Sport" trim, highered my expectations, but if I got a fit appeareance would be greater then speed, but i'd still want some speed

It's a common thing for Balts to blow the axles, I have a LSD if that changes anything, I'm not the biggest experience person when it comes to repairs and such though, I haven't looked at yet I was too busy freaking out haha

Oh thanks for clarifying that, I thought the SC's kicked out more than that..

The Fit likes corners more than the 1320' so that may leave you disappointed.

Yea the first few times stuff goes boom can make some crazy anxiety.

The LSD helps but only so much, your right foot has to do the rest

The balt is also known more for corners then straight line also, I really do want a fit, I just don't know if I could take the power difference, I'm test driving one tomorrow, I hate to ask this haha, but do they have Vtec? I love the sound of it

Yes, the fit does have vtec. But unfortunately it's a sohc 3-stage "economy like" vtec and it's not going to have that hard cross-over sound that you can get from dohc B18's or B16's. Good luck with the test drive bud.

honestly if you're used to power then the fit would probably be really slow. i'm coming off a 98 sc2 and the fit isn't much different but i'd say losing 100hp or so would be jarring. i'm more for economy since gas ain't going down so power for me is just lost on freaking out at the pump. ymmv.

How about coming from a 2008 G35x with 306 HP like I did? Would that be jarring? I'm proof that it can be done.

hehe. well i'm not saying it's impossible and if you're like me and can't stand spending money on gas then it's definitely doable.

just saying the folks that get uncomfortable without 2-300 hp in front of them may not like the little sewing machine powering the fit.

Indeed it is an adjustment. Although I was expecting it to be worse than it is. It helps that I cut my monthly car expenses in half.

well that right there helps to get the medicine down .

i actually now HAVE a car payment. i would've drove that saturn till the wheels fell off. 159k on the engine and still getting around 35mpg average. of course i'm on my 2nd tank with the fit and have pulled 43mpg out of it so i'm not complaining or anything.
