Greetings,

It seems that one way that Honda Civic owners are cutting down weight and hence increasing MPG is installing (at very least) rear Aluminum rear brake drums from Honda Insights on their Civics. Might this also be possible on the Fit?

Or are there any other components from the Insight that would work on the fit (besides the wheels, that is.)? Either GD or GE (I myself have a GE.)? Either First or second gen Insight?

Here's some information on the Insight brakes: InsightCentral.net - Encyclopedia - Honda Insight Braking System I don't know if that is material about 1st or 2nd gen or both.

I was told there was an Insight->Civic brake howto out there somewhere, but I have not found it yet.

I think someone already tried (or at least thought about it) the Insight drum brakes on Fits.

Thanks... I think that shows it's possible.. but complicated.. then again I seem to keep coming up with such things.. it's good to know at least it's possible... for the record for anybody looking.. that thread linked above has a lot more information about it in subsequent pages.
