HAMP Oil Filters from the dealership

Hey, I'm just wondering if it is possible to purchase a HAMP (Japanese?) filter from the Honda dealership. I've heard mixed reviews about the USA filter.

HAMP are cheaper parts approved for use with Hondas. HOP are genuine Honda parts. In oil filters HAMP are green and HOP blue. The Japanese Honda website explains it clearly in Japanese. HAMP are a great alternative in countries like Thailand where they can't afford HOP and HAMP is a better part than a generic. Neither HOP nor HAMP parts are necessarily made in Japan.

An increasing number of Honda dealers in Australia have been passing off HAMP parts as HOP and charging HOP prices to increase their margins. I suppose it is no worse than them charging for a service and not even changing the oil.
