HVAC blower motor fixed for 2012 and 2013 models?

I noticed a pretty common problem with the Fit was the blowere motor for many 2009, 2010, and even some 2011 models. I was wondering if Honda actually installed a different and better blower motor for the 2012 and 13's or if they just keep putting the same one in?? Does anyone out there know?

yah, pretty sure they fixed it already. i dont know for sure, but i can say that after the tsb on my 09 to get the blower and switch replaced, it's been working fine the last 2yrs.

im not worried that my '12 will have the same issue either.

My 2012 fan speeds 1-3 just bit the dust. Either I'm unlucky or its the same chappy setup. Heading to dealer tomorrow looking for repair. Unfortunately out of warranty. Maybe goodwill fix

Let us know how it goes... it's about $400 otherwise. I think they should goodwill most if not all of the cost. Depending on the service manager you may have to get Honda Customer Service involved. But work with the service manager first.

Honda replaced blower motor and resistor. My bill was $39 total, which was the deductible. I did not have to pay for diagnostic. The service manager and staff were fantastic. I did not purchase there and I am out of warranty. I think that being armed with the info from this forum helped me. Knowledge is power. Only complaint is that honda still uses same parts based on part #'s. Hope this helps.

That's great!

I've been using the same old blower motor and resistors since 2009 and 60K miles. I think the failure rate must be "low." You should be good.

I don't believe they have a newer blower motor part number..... the blower motor draws too much current shorting out the resistor...replace as a pair.
