1st gen Fit EV conversion - bellhousing patterns?

Hello All,

New here, figured it would be a good place to ask a Fit related question! I'm looking into vehicle options for my next EV conversion, as in Electric Vehicle. I've already done a conversion on a Japanese Mini truck, check it out,

The Electric Mini Truck | Jesse Tufts' Blog

It works great, wasn't prohibitively expensive and costs less than 2 cents/ mile to run. The problem is I need a back seat so the rest of my family can come along for the ride!

So, a Honda Fit is roomy, light weight and as a reasonably efficient gas car it will also be an efficient EV. Now comes the question, there are adapter plates available to bolt an electric motor directly to transmissions which originally had Honda D and B series engines.

Canadian Electric Vehicles Ltd. - Honda D Adapter

Is there any chance these adapter plates would also bolt up to a MT 1st gen Fit transmission? Essentially does the Fit have the same bellhousing pattern as a D or B series engine, sorry if I don't have the Honda engine nomenclature right!

If they don't work I can make a custom adapter plate but the easiest option is if one of the available adapter plates bolts right up.

As for as the conversion itself a 100km range looks to be about $13,000 and a 200km range looks to be about $18,000 with the difference being what size lithium iron phosphate batteries are used. Much less than any new EV out there, and it's always more fun to DIY.

Thanks for any help!

Cheers,

I guess custom it is...

Does anyone have picture of a fit bell housing showing the pattern so I might see what I'm up against?

Thanks,

If you want to do this to a 2nd gen Fit you should probably download the electronic service manual someone has posted up https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/2nd-...ilable-14.html
Below is a picture from an old ebay posting. It said it was for an 09 M/T.
