Smile Where to buy used Fit?

Am thinking of buying a used Fit Base, probably 2012, with auto trans. Any ideas of where to buy from? I do belong to USAA and I know they have a car buying service (not sure if it's for new only). Would appreciate any ideas.

Thanks!

USAA's service is for new cars, I used it on my Fit in 07.

Googling 2012 Honda Fit For Sale Phoenix, brought these results up.

Used Honda Fit cars in Phoenix, AZ - Yahoo Autos

Hi Kat,

Just FYI, the sites you gave me had some really good prices. Was looking at same cars at local dealers and prices 2k higher. Thanks again.

sorry Katsumoto, that is not correct. USAA has both a new and used car buying section. Here is the link:

https://www.usaa.com/inet/pages/car_...kredirect=true

And for Fits in your area siguy:

https://usaa.zagusedcars.com/cars/us..._id=ZUSA200051

I monitored their site for over a year while determining whether to buy a used Fit through the USAA network or buy it from a private seller. USAA posts used cars from both a "preferred" network of dealers and from USAA members who post their cars on that site. Often there are additional cash incentives posted on some of the dealer postings.

As I always do siguy, I strongly encourage you to seek out private sales and find someone who is interested in finding a good new home for their family car. I found my great deal through craigslist, talked to the guy for over 30 minutes, and bought the car sight unseen over the phone before the dealership vultures could swoop in only to sell it 5 days later for $3000 higher than the private seller was asking.

I know you were looking for a 2012, but here is a 2007 GD fit with only 129,000 that could be had for a song if it has not sold over the past month. It has been listed for nearly 30 days. The engine looks very clean from the photos.

Hmm, well BurntZ the rep I talked to was wrong. I haven't bought a car through them since the Fit.

Ive used the rental car service alot, but other than that I can usually get a better deal sometimes through an online booking service than USAA.
They have had all my insurance , banking, and credit card since 2006. Haven't had a single issue.

From picking the brains of many sales managers I have found out that USAA as well as Navy Federal CU have super sales whereby the dealer is pretty much taking a bath when one of these credit unions is offering targeted pricing on a specific new car model. The dealers certainly don't advertise these specials so you have to call the CU directly and ask what new car models they are targeting this month. There is additional information on the USAA car buying website about this very issue as I recall. I called USAA and they apparently never have specials on Hyundai models.

Thanks for the info BurntZ. I see a Fit Base at work every day. Maybe I could make him or her a deal, trade straight up for my 1996 Teenage Weak Dawg Toyota Tacoma with 196,000 miles on it (still runs great - call it weak Dawg cuz it has 4 cyl & auto tranny).
