Fit Transmission problems
How are the transmissions in 2007-2009 Fits as I want to get one for my brother but noticed Consumer Report book showing some issues in the first few model years. Also has anyone had any issues in the newer 2015 Fits as mine seems to surge up and down a bit with the CVT, or the 2010-2013 Fits as may have him look at those also.

Sorry, but there has NEVER been any transmission issues reported with the first or second generation Fits; neither by owners, nor those reporting to Consumer Reports. I don't know where you got that information from.

Other than a pressure sensor that went bad I haven't had any issues with my 09 base. I did a drain and fill at 57000 and one myself at 84000 and since the fluid that came out was darker than I would like to see I am going to do another one before winter and possibly a third.
My suggestion is baby the transmission. Do a DOF every 10-15k miles or ~once a year.

Today I was driving on the freeway, cruising at 70 mph. My 2015 Fit EX has 56k miles on it. There was a sudden jolt to the car, my tires locked up and I skidded, the wheels started turning again and then I lost complete power to accelerate. Check engine, tire light and traction control lights all came on. I had to coast into the emergency lane and call roadside assistance.

Well there will be no failures if you are driving like a grandma

Shoot me, my 2008 goes into limp mode about 1 time a month.
Happens in park when shifted from park the reverse or reverse to drive. Turn the engine off and restart it's fine except for cel.
Makes a clunk noise sometimes as it happens. I'll replace when it breaks.

Are you sure about that?
actually 1st CVTs where I live in Japan suffered from major issues. What I was told from a Honda mechanic friend of mine is that Honda was using ATF-Z in the 1st Gen CVT which causes the start clutch to wear out. This causes a major judder or shudder when taking off from idle. Google it. My first Gen did it. You can flush the old fluid out and replace it with CVT fluid, but eventually it will come back.
