Angry horrible gas milage

hi guys,
I bought my honda fit sport 2008 (automatic transmission) on april 08.
On the beggining I was geting arround 275 km on tank (33-35 l) wich was a horrible experience but I was told it will get better after the engine breaks in so I waited.
Now, (after the first oil change and 10 000 km) I"m avarage 11l/100km.
My best tank was 340 km for 35l.
I drive it just in Vancouver (east and downtown) so there is lots of stop and go on my way to work and home.
I never speed just normal driving but I still belive this millage is absolutly bad?
I'm complitly disapointed in the fit!
My old 92' accura integra AT (1.8 with 140 hp) was using 10l/100km!
how is this possible???
any sugestion?
thanks

Where do u travel between again? Where in E.Van & where in DT?

Stop & go driving definitely is a BIG factor on bad gas mileage. Another thing is u may notice your brake pads may wear out faster than a lot of other ppl coz u're always doing stop & go driving.

I will suggest u to check tire pressure & perform an alignment check also. Facked up tire pressure & alignment setting never helps on getting good gas mileage.

And yeah, the gas tanks in our fit are pretty small. I usually put in around 33L everytime & I can do around 365km travelling between Metrotown to Clark & Powell area; compare with putting in around 40-45L & do the same mileage in my civic SiR before.

Change engine oil a little more often & use 89octane gas btw. Dirty engine oil & oil filter never helps. And the engine runs quite a bit smoother & responds faster with 89octane(regular plus) gasoline.

wow those are some really low numbers posted above...

turbocharger here;;
i get 430-465km (full tank) depending on octane and style of driving. could be that i live in richmond so there are no hills.

i get more kms by using #94 but Washington state no have #94.

How you drive determines alot

I notice the difference quite a bit when I drive hard.
You should try driving like an old person for at least one week and see if it makes a difference.
Soft starts, coast to lights, drive speed limit, see some of the other posts on AT mileage.

My mileage went up a little when I went to a SRI and new exhaust.

doesn't the GD fit have a 42L gas tank? The GE only has a 40L tank.
