My buddy Ken put this video together from clips he shot @ the 11/16/08 SCCA event.
When I heard the music I had to laugh--muscle-car Fit. haha....but its pretty cool.
YouTube - Hawaii SCCA Honda Fit - Randy's Run
He took alot of video clips of the various cars that ran that day. Its all out there on youtube.
Here's Brad's runs (MINI-Fit...sans the Fit):
YouTube - SCCA Hawaii 11-16-08 - SM #43

Thanks for posting mine. Wish I could go faster. Oh well. Maybe next time.
Just a reminder-
Test and tune on 1/25/09 is a great opportunity to get out and learn under controlled conditions.
No stress since it is not an official event day.
Only for practice and multiple instructors are present for as much help as you want.
You can also run then adjust your suspension then run again and see what difference it makes.
You can try downshifting or changing air pressures.
Usually scales are available to check weights or even corner weights- there is a small fee and usually it's done earlier in the day.
Event runs all day long but you can leave after lunch or early afternoon.
The course setup will be very close to the normal course we compete on.
See how your times stack up to your buddies and the rest of the drivers in your class or for the day. Maybe you can beat an S2000 or Evo? It's been done before. Skill counts more than mods.
Unlike in previous years there is no other event that weekend so you don't have to be all tired and compete the next day.
This also preceeds the next season which starts in late March- great time to prepare. It's likely this will be the only test and tune for 2009. Next one maybe 2010. Outside chance for late 2009 but nothing certain.

any feed back on these would be a great help..Thanks!
im set on 6 which is in the middle (border line daily comfy driving and spirited). similar to stock, a little stiffer and bumps can be felt (hawaii has some pretty bad roads) but still feels smooth and comfy and handling has improved.
the drop is nice, being on stock rims and tires, there is about 1 finger gap in the front and a 2 1/2 finger gap in the back, so it has the slight aggresive look. im able to go over speed bumps no problem, drive ways can be a little tricky (depends on the driveway), sometimes the plastic vent underneath scrapes a little on the ground but not the bumper.
overall, i do like my new setup, good suspension for a daily driven car. i did consider the T1R full coilovers but i felt it was more practical going the other direction because my car is a DD.
if you do consider these, get them soon before the sale at AJ-Racing ends! GOOD DEAL!

Did you have to pay any customs fees that they mentioned? Also if you could? can you take a picture of the new drop. Thanks again...
This sunday is the Honolulu Marathon so plan accordingly.
We have autocross at Aloha Stadium lower parking lot all day sunday.
You're all invited to visit and go for a ride at the end of the day.
Bring closed toe shoes and borrow or bring a helmet (M2000 or SA2000 or later rated).

Helmets for SCCA events need to be rated
M2000 or M2005
SA2000 or SA2005
M is for motorcycle and 2000 means certified in year 2000.
Helmets are rated for 10 years then it moves to the next rating so in 2011 we will have M2010 rated helmets and the M2000 are no longer valid.
SA is for automotorsports- it's fire rated.
Many helmets are not SNELL rated and have no sticker showing M2000 or later.
If you have SCCA membership you can get a discount for helmet purchase at either of the Razor locations at Pearlridge uptown. Can be closed or open face. Doesn't have to be expensive- from about $130 on up.

2. You're ready... even if the power goes out state wide and none of the gas pumps work.
3. Hey, gas was $1.95 per gallon at costco today. How can you pass that up?!?
See you there.
Your tires are good in the rain. Now everyone else will have to SLOW down.
i finally got to watch you guys out there today for a little bit. looked like was one good turn out. i had to watch from the Checkers parking lot tho cause i had some stuff to pickup for my wife's car. maybe next time i can watch closer. looked like good fun.

Then Jan 25th is the test and tune. You can sign up to drive all day minus working one shift as a course worker. Good day to try things out.
Today both 08FitSport and Raton did fine and each was getting better and better.
Randy got to try his coilovers AND Yokohama S.Drive tires. I think both were good for handling plus he got to try a few settings on his shocks.
It's always hard to know exactly what will work.
It's interesting that 08FitSport and Raton's times were very close even though 08FitSport has stock suspension. It's the tires that keeps him close. The rest is getting better at driving skill. Today's course was short and tight in some areas and spotted by rain in the morning and very late afternoon.
