Super Ferry Hawaii- How about you?

I've talked to some planners in the state govt about the Super Ferry that will run from Honolulu to both Maui and Kauai.

It's still alive and being set for late 2007 with service to the Big Island 2009.

This means you can do a trip with your car and go driving around on other islands. Great way for doing autocrossing on Maui, Oahu, Kauai and Big Island for the future.

There is still chance that people on Maui will complain that it is bad for the environment.

And some of the boat captains I have talked to say that during the bad weather months it will take really long to travel interisland and the ride is really rough and unpleasant.

I myself would welcome the Super Ferry. How many FITs would fit in one ferry? Lets fill it up.

Super Ferry seems still alive. At least for now.

Looking forward to seeing how it works out.

Post here if you do try it.

Of course maui is the problem! I think it is so sad that there are a few that can yell louder then the many. I am excited to be able to have other buying options, such as cars, large parts and other business stuff. Currently it is planned to be an overnight venture from maui in the late after noon and back to maui in the early morning. But maybe I could bring fiona over for a visit to the dent doc or even a new paint job??

Yep, news said August at the earliest.

I'm planning to use it once operational.

OK, the Super Ferry is here and ready...
Are we?

Sure does look nice but like everything in Hawaii sure does cost a bunch.

Still, it's enticing to be able to drive my MINI on the neighbor islands for a change.

Read the article from today-

See the photo gallery-

Go for a test drive.

Hey kkim- how did you get your Rep Power to be 2????

A few weeks ago a local surfer magazine encouraged young readers to become martyrs in the fight against the Super Ferry.

The publishing editors claimed they didn't know much about it.

Super Ferry is back in action to Maui. Takes about 3+ hours one way.

Cost is about $39 one way per person. Just don't go on a choppy wave day.
