for a daily i would say both front and rear strut bars and front tie brace, if you wanna spend it go ahead with the rear sway as well. Personally i am planning on a solid bar for the rear sway because i feel that the separated design of the TT rear sway defeats the purpose.

for a track car, i would get the same and add in the ladder brace. the reason i wouldn't get the ladder for a dd is that you need to remove the plastic covering from under the gas tank to make it fit and i would be worried about accidentally driving over debris on the road.

Just a daily driver. While I'd love to track it one day, I currently don't have the time or money for that. What would you say are the advantages of the parts you listed?

The front strut and tie brace will box out the front creating a more rigid frame assembly reducing roll and improving handling, the rear strut will be a start to do the same for the rear, because of the "openness" of a hatchback this greatly improves handling in the rear because its another point to tie both sides of the rear together. I would recommend getting a rear sway bar in the future that is a solid design to box out the rear

let me know if u have any other questions and anyone else, feel free to correct me if i said anything incorrect.

Thanks Java. You actually helped me and the group buy. I've had a lingering doubt about putting the ladder on a daily driver. Not sure I like the idea of removing the gas tank protection...

Please change my ladder to the front strut, and for your troubles I'll add on the front tie brace.

I love the idea of adding the rear strut, but practically it won't work for me because I need a functional cargo area.

Thanks for all the input Java, but after doing a bunch of research, I think the place I may be able to see the most return on my money at this point would be getting a set of lighter wheels/tires. Would definitely appreciate the better mpgs, handling, accell/decel, and since driving is almost all city, I wouldn't have to worry too much about loss in momentum.

Fair enough but of course that is going to cost much more for strong light weight wheels with the correct offsets that wont hurt MPG's rather than improving chassis rigidity and handling. But it is your money lol.

Yeah, you're right that it's certainly gonna cost more, some early research shows something like $800-900. It's tough, considering my todo project list includes sound insulation, and window tinting, I'd like a good performance modification. I could also easily do the tire/wheel changes myself.

I also figure that one day I'm gonna need new tires anyway, so if I use the stock all seasons as my winter tires and have something else for the rest of the year I can expand my tire life. I also think it's easier for me to comprehend the benefits from the wheel change than it is with the bar additions. I still might bite on this though, as an engineer I just love modding things, and I'd really like to learn about these parts.

I think it seems like its going to end up being more of a "Which do i buy first" kind of dilemma and considering wheels will always be a big chuck to pay, this group buy is only for right now and you never know when another opportunity to get 15% off is going to come around. Personally i wouldn't use the all seasons as winters, id sell them, get winter tires for the stockers and get all new aftermarket setup. stock tires are a harsh ride and i hear they arent anything special in the winter. If i diddnt have new rims already and i was deciding the way you are, i would totally go with the bars instead.

Unless you spend close to 1500 for a set of really lightweight strong rims and fantastic tires, your going to be throwing away 900 bucks for new rims and tires that aren't a huge improvement from stock. And most of the super light weight ones at 15"ers for like 4-500 a pop without tires(ssr type c)

You referred to the best bang for your buck earlier, and I still stand by what i said about these bars definitely making a huge improvement for the least amount of money right now. I would wear down ur stock tires before you buy some after markets, you already invested in them, why not use em.

I don't agree on lighter wheels not having a big impact, but indeed you will have to pay a good chunk of money... if it's only for DD i would go with König Helium they're pretty much the cheapest light wheels you will find... if look is not a big issue maybe you will find cheap used sets...

As for tires, great performing summer tires will cost a lot and will wear very quickly... and they might not be driveable during rainfalls

As for the bars, honestly this is pretty much a one-shot deal... Even used bars will go for a lot higher... and they have the exact same designs!
Lower tie bars have been said to have great effects on cornering... as for front strut bars, well that's pretty much a no-brainer, most of the people put them first on there cars... basically bars will help your tires and suspension to work correctly... your car won't feel as numb in corners it will feel a lot more "alive"

but as java said, it's your money so it's your decision... keep in mind they're a great bang for the buck at the GB's special... similar bars would go for above 250$

What i meant to say was that "cheap/inexpensive" wheels wont have a large impact because they arent going to be as light as the more expensive variations made by brands like ssr. Yes they will have an impact but 1lb less each wheel is hardly a difference compared to 6 or 7lbs less at each corner not even accounting for lighter tires. Sorry for the confusion

Tex, with you placing an order we'll be well past the 15 pieces needed for the extra 10% price break. If you order more than 1 piece you actually get 15% off. If we could somehow get to 30 pieces ordered we'll be getting 20% off (I'm ordering 4 pieces, so I'm certainly doing my part haha!).

I suppose if we get close to hitting the 30 piece mark, I could probably commit to a rear strut bar, too.

And happy birthday!

List the 5 pieces on the list we have going. Purchasing doesn't take place until the GB is over, so all you need to do is say what your buying now, then you purchase later. This is just to ensure enough people purchase. Happy Birthday!

I dropped a pitch to the What have you done to you GD thread. See what you can come up with and reach out to some other threads... You might want to check my post out and see if you can add something I may have missed.... Lay something out to the GE guys. I have a busy day tomorrow and need to crash... Good luck , I want a better discount and anyone that jumps on now and can bring just a few more are going to be happy with the price unless the are only into the cosmetic car scene.

Did'nt it become 15% when you buy two or more?

@srkishy: i forgot you had a GE8... the rear sway bar reinforcement is also a great buy! it does wonders on the torsion beam!!!

@Java: the könig heliums are extremely light for their price! But they're not the strongest wheels...
