While the contributions may seem minimal, lurkers give a valuable service in reading and very occassionally responding to posts. The guys who post an average of 75 times a day probably won't remember a post from a year ago, you might get lucky and have a lurker pipe up with the perfect reference from an old post that many others have forgotten. Also, many lurkers don't post because most of thier input has already been stated by another (more frequent) poster. I like the "time served" rep point. Besides, the guy who has been on these forums reading quietly for a year deserves more rep than the newb that just popped in and started the 5,674th "I love my Fit because..." thread. The old lurker probably knows alot more about the forum and the subject anyways.

That doesnt make any sense. I think the system changes cause if you have that many invisible you should have hit 2 visible by now. It may have something to do with who reps you and how many times they have repped cause 26 should make you 2 visible. Im starting to get confused again

Just because you are still trying to figure out how this rep system works, I'll give you +1 rep Let me know when you make a breakthrough hahaha...maybe we should just check the forum developers website

That is where I got the info I posted earlier in this thread.
Now we are just hammering out what settings this particular site has got set and at what levels.

Im telling ya the site changes with the reps. It has to cause if your in the 30+ invisible it makes absolutely no sense that you should still be only a 1 visible. I think it has something to do with the time between reps, who repped you, and how long you have been on. I could be wrong but that would only make sense that the site is not the same for reps for each member. I beleive it was posted before where someone had 22 and was bumped to 2 visible but i could be wrong. Im just thinking that its not on a level field and the system has changes that we dont know about. Thats my idea atleast

Im going to just come out and say the rep system is sooooo RANDOM! I just saw a member with over 1000 posts but not one visible...WTF?
And how come i keep getting rep but im stuck at 28 points, ive gotten at least 8 postive reps, and still i stay at 28?
I dont even think it is possible to figure the system out, becuase i think its made NOT to be figured out by members. Its made to forever stay a mystery to forum members..That what i think lol.

Well i guess that kinda makes sense. Thats funny that you only have 28 invisible and Toyotalover has 31 but there is a visible point difference in between the two of you. haha. It has to do with thread count and date as was earlier stated. Maybe it will stay a mystery but im not gonna stop until i figure something out. Or get bored and dont want to deal with it anymore. haha

lol i say the rep point system is random to the max. I think i've seen ppl with like 30 posts or something that have 1 visible rep point, while others with 1000+ have none. I'm still confused lol

Some of the new members have underground rep systems to gain ie creating other accounts and working with friends to gain rep early on or atleast from what we can tell. I cant figure out for the life of me though why its so hard to get to 2 visible. There has got to be something we are missing Toyotalover.

Im actually trying to figure it out cause thats just the person i am. I like to fiddle and mess with things like that. The easiest way to figure it out would be to start a new account just for testing but i dont want to cheat the system to figure it out. Besides i dont think that admin would like that very much. haha. I will be good guys
