EP3 vs FIT
#81
There are no si logos on usdm seats but I do agree they would look nice in a fit. I might have to do this mod down the road since a pair of si seats usually go around $300-$400 for the non side airbag ones or $400-$500 for the side airbag ones...not too bad imo.

The K20A3 motor in the EP3 isn't THAT bad. It has a decent amount of potential. Even if you don't want to swap the cylinder head and add a 6-speed, you could put in a set of skunk2 stage 2 cams with an I/H/E setup and a nice k-pro tune and you could hit close to if not over 200 whp probably.

I owned a 2003 EP3. Didn't do much in the way of mods just rims intake a Retrofitted some Hids.
Really loved the car was super fun to drive ---- loved the shifter position.
The interior was really nice and it was loaded.
Some things I didn't like was the insurance---why on the earth was a 160hp car more insurance than ou 235hp wrx? Probably because of accidents theft etc.
I found I was constantlly hitting the rev limiter---for what it was I thought it was slow. I'm sure the fit is no barn burner hatch but that's not the purpose it was built for. Did not handle all that good for the class it was in.
The ep3 seemed to have more problems than other generation civics. Maybe because it was built in England.
Being that we are in the market just coming from a fast 06 WRX
We would love to buy the EP3 if it was lighter better on gas full warranty and better storage capacity.
Things we like about the fit.
-Reminds us of an EP3
-great on gas
-cheaper insurance
-new with warranty
-dash board
-versatile storage capacity.
-built in Japan
Just my .02$

thanks for all the comments........this topic got alot more responses than i would have guessed.
but for me im 100% for sure keeping my auto fit.........last week I was in indy visiting my sister, and i ended up having emergency appendix surgery while i was down there......and since im self employed and dont currently have insurance i got a nice small bill of $17,721.28
so ive gotta fill out forms for financial aid to pay that bill, so no extra money for a different car......i hope to at least do some minor mods to the fit this year........
i got hosed

the first n/a to produce over 200whp? you can get a new si to do that with a few bolt ons, so i dunno what this statement is suppossed to mean.
most n/a builds replace things like the rods and such, so the one you were referring to was poorly done imo, as there are many guys making good numbers with ep3's f.i. or n/a.

i'm not saying the bottom end of an A3 is bulletproof by any means, it's a weak spot for sure, but it should be able to handle the revs if you don't go too high. the bottom end should be replaced if you want to push it.
an A3 with skunk2 stage II cams and upgraded valvetrain would be pleanty of power for a daily driven Fit.

ive had a good friend tell me something like that, since you can pick up an a3 engine a heck of alot cheaper that a a2 and its still got 160hp. so im sure eventually someone will look into it further, or maybe give it a shot. i plan on having the fit for sometime, so eventually who know what i'll do:D
this exact swap would be keen for guys like you an me, especially if you score an auto rsx version!
after weight and such, 160 engine producing hp would be great!
the thing is, the KWSC at 5psi bascially makes the same power that this would...for cheaper.
