2009 Acura TL -Official Pic
my boss recently got a 09 RL and it's got those similar angular lines.
it's a nice look Acura has now. much better than the previous gen RL'S
TL's, and TSX's by far.
now with the SH-AWD, if they release one with MT that might be
my next commuter.

i can say that if you like something instantly you can either like it
for a long time or get tired of it real fast... 99% of the time
you'll get tired of it real fast.
so it's a good thing that it looks generally good but kinda iffy alittle
in some areas. it will take some time to get use to, but the interest
will last longer once you like it.
i see potential in the car with some suspension work and pushing out
the wheels a little bit. should look real nice.

there is only one real issue with it, and its the only thing that i really dislike: the fact that it has a five speed automatic transmission.
come on acura, i know the thing is bulletproof, but you could just as well build a bullet proof 6 speed. don't lag behind everyone else all the time! yeah you'll have to charge more, but people are willing to pay it if its the proper feature for the price and class.
I had a 6 speed automatic WITH tiptronic in my VW rabbit that cost me 17k! i have a five speed shiftable auto in my 16k fit right now!

yep, Infiniti's coming out with the G37 sedan this fall with 7sp AT that
has auto downshift rev-matching like their current models. should be
very nice. their interior is so much advanced than my generation G35's.
not that i care about my G35C cause i motor with my window down,
stereo off. hahaha. :D
i doubt acura's going to release a MT version of their SH-awd... probably
has something to do with warranty and robustness of their electronic
drivetrain (rear wheels).
im still leaning towards the TSX as my family car... our Legacy
needs to go pretty soon. subaru's are a pos.

i like the tsx, i but from what i have read, its dynamically inferior to its first generation.
from what i have read on edmunds, a manual tranny is coming circa 2010, but i dunno what models its going to be optional on.
but that 5 speed auto needs to GO.
so she's going to want fuel economy, AT, and comfort. my plan is to
tune the car's suspension to tighten it down a little, lower it, along with
some 18's. should look pretty nice.
the legacywgn rides nice and is my workhorse car, but unless it wasn't
for the AWD it's really not that much "better" than a sedan as a family
car. it's got cargo space but interior space isn't that big at all.. wife
was surprised how big my FitS was when she rode along. lol
yah, i read that too... but the wife's going to be the primary driver

ken, when you say you are putting on 18's, do you mean aftermarkets? i can't remember which trim level comes with the 18's, probably the sh-awd...but since your wife is interested in comfort, will it be the base model she'll want?
yeah a buddy of mine has a legacy wagon, its fun, we do 4 wheel drifts in on the gravel occasionally. but as far as interior room goes, its no better than most cars, and not as much headroom as the fit.

my legacywgn is slightly over-steer biased from the factory so it does
drifts well in the snow. :) yah, even today my wife picked me up at
my office to go to lunch and man the passenger seat felt really cramped.
yah, aftermarket 18's. if i can find the right spring rates and dampers
i can make the car feel comfy even with low profile tires. :)
