1200 hp 1955 Chevy

I don't know how many of you like these type of cars, but here is my cousins 1955 Chevy. Its a Pro-Charged 372 small block puttin down 1242 HP and 968 ft lbs of torque. He is doing it all himself and here is a picture trail and video. Enjoy!! :)

Yup, the pro-charger is pretty complicated though. It spins at 55k rpm!!! The internals are very complex.

They are great for certain applications but boy do they drink gas like a fish.

Oh I completely agree. The engine is already tuned, just need to finish the body and interior.

Monster horsepower! My girlfreind and I are looking for an old Chevy or Ford to do a restoration on. I get to do the mechanical aspects and she gets to do the cosmetic stuff. lol So if anyone ever sees a bright pink classic hotrod with flower interior and putting down 1000+ HP, that's probably us. :)

lol Just kidding. I think she's looking for two tone teal/white outside with white interior. Not too shabby I guess. We are still years away from having cash to do that though.

Something tells me he didn't build the shoe box for good gas mileage... Does your cousin run in Sportsman or Outlaw class? Or is he gonna terrorize the streets in that beast?

He only plans on running it at the strip a few times. He is building this for mainly show purposes.

Pure seks. Not a fan of most muscle, but this seems like a competent and thorough build. Absolutely amazing work.

Yeah I don't really prefer muscle cars either, but he has thought this through and is doing everything the right way.

A 55 Chevy isn't really a muscle car per se. I guess what he is building would be called a Pro Touring car, but not really since he won't be using it as a driver. Still a really nice build though....

Oh no he is still going to drive this car. The beauty of the Pro-Charger system is you can drive on the street or the strip with 1000 plus HP. Now the MPG could be a problem haha

Yeah really! I went on a rod run with a bunch of T-buckets a few years ago and those guys have to stop about every hour to fill up! Something about supercharged small blocks and six gallon fuel tanks....LOL
