why did you get rid of the fit originally? did the circumstances for ditching it change?

with that, i would recommend a used evo

a used ralliart such as this one: Mitsubishi : Lancer : eBay Motors (item 260596786426 end time May-08-10 17:35:15 PDT)

wrx wagon

forester 2.5xt

i would not recommend going back to a fit unless whatever motivation you had that made you sell your first one is completely gone.

Thanks for the ideas guys. Kennef i got rid of it because i just love more of a sports car feel. Now that has not gone complety away but i am starting to realize in life sometimes you have to give up somethings for others. Like i love my sports cars but i really love my dog and have a blast playing with her. A evo is a great idea or a STI for that matter. I will look into both of them see if i can't find any cheap used ones. But if i can i will try and get something cheap and keep my S.

I thought you said you wanted fun!!! A CR-V? They are noisy as hell, not economical, they have major problems with the drive system for years 2005 thru 2007.... later years we'll learn soon. They handle horribly, accelerate slowly and fuel economy is real crummy.

don't do CRV, get a honda Element if you are sticking to honda.. i noticed you said DOG earlyer... the honda Element's interior is about as close as you can get to being Dog proof (hairs) or.. i think a Jeep Wrangler is prety good with a dog as well... plus with a Jeep wrangler you can driver around with no shirt on like a freaken BADASS.

Here's my advice...

Bring the Girlfriend into the discussion. Especially if you are doing this jointly and going to be using some of her saved money.

I wonder if it's because people don't replace the 4WD system fluid. The manuals say that the fluid should last 60,000 miles, but it starts to go far before that. It's a quick fix to drain and replace it... however, it will create gawdawful squealing noises when turning until its replaced, and if not done so, will cause damage to the drive system.

I noted that the CR complaints start around 3-4 years ago.

The CR-V is like a sedate, boring Element. Mileage is a bit better though.

Well no crap it's not as much fun as the Fit. But, it's fun in its own right. Great for hauling junk around, and the mileage isn't nearly as bad as that particular element: I had a 2006 EX-P 5MT 4WD for 3 years. I usually averaged 21 mpg. 19 or so in city only, 22-23-ish on the highway. The 2WD models should be better (the 2WD AT is rated at 20/25).

Update guys and gals. I ended up picking up another toyota previa van for $1100 cash. And all it needed was a altinator to get it running perfectly. So i now own 2 previas and the CR is staying for now. I plan on geting the AC fixed in the New van and keeping this one its in 8 out of 10 shape. The other van in a clunker and i am about to sell it soon or give it to a junk yard. And plan on trying to get a Fit. Right now the GF does not have much saved up. I plan on saving with her over the next year and get her into something nice. So that way i will have the CR for weekends still the previa as my DD and something like a Fit for her as a DD. But right now im waiting for her to save more. I make alot more than she does but i don't want me to be the one spending all the money she needs to learn how to save for something
