That'd be awesome but I doubt that would happen, the small car market in the US is growing, but that is a super niche car, and they'd have to make it bigger the second time around.

I'd expect another roadster before, that but i'm not holding my breath.

I'm in the market for these right now, lol
Just waiting for the nismo to be released around my area, haven't found any yet

those jukes have less room in the back than my coupe.

i test drove one before i bought my GE last year and while they were kinda fun to drive, there's no utility aspect which i needed in my dd. i'd get the abarth vs that nismo juke for sure.

anyway, back to topic! cheap rwd cars. :D

budget 2 seaters dont sell. like i mentioned above, most people in this category dont have cash, so they can only have one car. that one car has to do as much as everything their life calls out... and it has to be cheap.

Miatas are nice that you can buy a 1st generation for little money and run on nice days. I have a 95 NA with 60k on it was below 50k when I got it in 2010 for around $5k. As a only car would not work here nor spending a lot on a 2 seater.

Honda Beat will never be made again I can almost guarantee that. All the Kei cars in Japan are people-movers these days. The whole point of the K cars is to save people money while still allowing them to have utility and a "sporty" K car makes almost zero sense and has a VERY VERY VERY niche market

The Honda Beat, Suzuki Cappuccino and AZ-1 were all born out of excess and boredom on the part of the Japanese automakers. They are trying to make the most money while spending the least amount possible now.

Just wait a few years and you can probably just import one to the US and register it under the 25 year rule.

I know for a fact (yes fact) Toyota is going to come out with something rwd in a few years which should be exciting. Not sure the actual platform, but I'm excited for it. Can't divulge much out of respect for people who told me this in secrecy. Finally Toyota appears to be coming back to their sportcar roots!

^ true. rwd would be fun.

problem with these low-end cars is that the drivers are usually poor, and cant afford dedicated snow tire set to run in the winter. so penetration will mostly only be in the warmer states. we've already seen that happen with the brz/frs.

I remember when RWD was mainly the only option with a few exceptions such as the Honda CvCC and VW Rabbit also seem to have more snow back then and did not use snow tires. Then it went to FWD everybody had to have to drive in the winter. Now everybody needs AWD for the winter even with less snow.
