A narrower wheel also helps with fuel economy. I've noticed a significant difference from 7" wide to 6" wide.

Oh and for those following for the last couple of years this afternoon walmart finally settled. Not what I originally wanted but enough to take care of bills and school and something to play with. But I believe I'm still gonna sell the fit. Just can't justify the obnoxious insurance. Need something old and cheap. Probably going back to an old pickup unless I can find a nice old japanese sedan 70s era

This is true...

At least it's finally resolved, and you didn't get completely screwed over.

I got up and walked outside to see....yes.....my 2010 Honda Fit Sport, sitting on bricks......no rims....no tires......nothing...I could not believe someone would steal factory rims off of my car. Has anyone else heard of people stealing factory rims off of the Fit? I gotta say I don't think I have been more mad than today. Luckily the dealer had a spare set of tires to put on my car so we can tow it to the dealer. Dealer is quoting $3200 for tires, rims, lug nuts (yes they took those too), and labor. So I thought well since we only have to pay $500 I might as well go ahead and get the Mugen rims. But has anyone heard of people stealing the factory wheels off of the Fit??
HATE TO SAY IT BUT YOU NEED TO BE SLAPPED, AND HARD.

If you pay 3700 total for some 1200 dollar rims thats sad. Go buy some aftermarket rims and tires for 3TIMES LESS than what you were just qouted.

Sorry for being rude but seriously man anyone should have RAN from that qoute.

Well this is going to be a pretty exciting Sunday... I recently learned about the "gold mine" of used race tries stacking up at my local road course. So now that I've got some spare rubber, just have to pick up another set of wheels. Anyone run across some 15X7 5X114.3 ~+35 (or around that) for a good deal, send 'em my way!

I think I might have found my new whip. Assuming everything continues to go according to plan. I found a 85 cressida in abiline that would be a perfect candidate for a 1jz hehehe. What you think khamla would charge me to put a 1jz and coils and the rest of the neccesary goodies into that cressy marcus? might call him tomorrow if i get some free time.

Completely agree.I even told my dad I thought that was a rip off and that I wanted aftermarket wheels. But there were some problems we faced. For one my car was on bricks blocking the other car in our driveway so we had to get it out of the way. If any other tow truck came they probably would have slid the car on the bed and ruined the whole underside. Also I wanted some Work Emotion wheels but I would have to have them shipped overnight along with some tires. I would also have to find someone to put the tires on the wheels. Also the tpms sensors I need. Honda had them. Unfortunately the honda dealer does not install aftermarket wheels. Basically it came down to time. The honda dealer was able to overnight the tires and wheels, get my car on a tow truck with some wheels on it so it wont screw it up, and get me back my car by today. I would have loved to get some aftermarket wheels but it would not be able to happen with the situation. Plus the price didnt matter. Insurance said as long as the price was under $3200, we would only pay $500. so i might as well get what I want. Plus for some reason the factory oem wheels with tires and stuff are the same price as the mugen wheels and tires. This also allows me to upgrade the tires so if later i want to sell my mugen wheels I can get some aftermarket wheels.

The fit is sooo light you could have just gotten a couple of floor jacks and jackstands from autozone and slid it across the driveway hahaha. Anyway just glad insurance is taking care of things for you.

Still think you should troll H-I looking for the wheels. Thats just me tho.

Yeah, I think I would have gone to a joe blow tire shop and picked up some steelies on used tires for the mean time...then found some rims I liked, got those and then sold the steelies back to the shop.

Not a bad idea. I will do that if this happens again. But since I am leaving in 5 weeks for college I don't think it will. I went to the dealership to pick up my car and waited an hour only to have our service guy come up and say the parts manager screwed up and put the wrong sensors on, so I wont be able to get it til tomorrow. O well. I got to go back in the bay and see my car, the wheels look pretty good. I have never seen them on a fit in person before. I will post pictures of it when I get it back. Don't know if I will be able to sleep tonight or not. I guess that's how you feel when you are in love with your fit.

Here is a picture of the new wheels. Taken with the iPhone so excuse the poor quality. They look alot better in the light, but the tree was blocking the sun

So I found out that the people who stole my rims also stole rims off of 4 other cars that night. I figured they were just amateurs, well little did I know that they believe these people were the ones who stole the rims off of 62 chevy trucks at a dealership near me. Whats even more crazy is all the rims off of the 62 trucks, were stolen in one night. Crazy right? But luckily I got the wheel locks, but now I just have to worry about someone stealing the center caps.

For a custom swap, its usually near the 10k range for custom mounts, wiring, etc etc..... I'm not saying it will be that much, but it will be close. Cressidas are cool, just don't drive on their stock suspension, it SUCKS! The stock powersteering is very senstive too. I used to own one, wrecked that sucker in a week. Have fun with it!
