I just realized I'll be in Houston on the 29th for the Texas Bowl at Reliant. Any of you Houston people live close by?

wow this blew up fast again. I'm not sure what your talking about hootie as far as the "rally goes, but then my brain is a little worked because of finals. I think its time for another BBQ. And your parents worry about a dull meet, but there hasn't been one of those yet. Its always been interesting.

oh and i suppose i won't be going to IFO because my brother "works ever saturday" and I ain't driving all the way to austin or san antonio by myself. And everyone else seems busy =(

Every time Roadents2k posts the info on the events, the date is the same as a local show or SCCA autocross event. Plus, I didn't see the thread to keep it at the top.

Its alright, I was typing my idea as I thought of it so it would sound kind of confusing during the first or second read. Let me try to reword it in a better way as if there was still 12 cars for the meet...

The 12 cars will be broken down into 4 teams of 3 cars. 1 car will be considered the lead car, another the average time car, and the last will be following car.

The idea is to have the team's car to leave with a staggered start, meaning that there is a "X" amount of time between each teammates car from the start, then having the team drive to a predetermined destination while trying at best to maintain that timed gap.

At the start of this "rally", all of the lead cars will leave at once in one group, all of the averages in another, and all followers in the last group. This is so if someone gets lost or has car issues, they can still have some other member to follow and/or help them get things sorted and get to the destination.

Once at the destination, the times from the "lead car" and "following car" will be averaged together and compared to the time of the "average time car"; the team who's combined time is closer to their average time wins.

The rally idea was kind of a spin off idea of the SCCA rallies that some posts up that usually happens in Dallas. The only difference is that this will be a small portion of the time and distance when compared to their routes and won't require much navigation skill at all. The route I had in mind would only be about 12 to 13 miles and last about 15 to 20 minutes depending on your driving speed throughout the route. /end rally idea

Like I said in one of my previous posts. The rally idea may be fun for some, but it may seem tedious for others. Whatever the case may be if I do host a meet in Pearland, I'm leaning towards a regular meet with a cruise and lunch or BBQ.

I will be around. How long are you here for? I might have to work but could hang out later. I you come in the night before I could meet up. Just let me know. I'm down as long as I either don't have to work or it can be after work...
