Texas Fits, Anything goes thread
Cool, that's one person up for it. If it were to happen, I think it would be best to have it on either a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday and more than likely it will be a refined version of my first idea in this post.
For anyone else who is interested, please list a day of the week and/or time frame that would work best for you.
A meet in December would be too late minute in my opinion and may people will be on the road for the holidays. So with that said, I'm thinking a good time frame would be between the 2nd weekend of January and the last weekend of February since there are multiple members who's b-day is in that month.
For the typical meet...
I was thinking to start off in Pearland (roughly 15-20 minutes south of Houston) at the Towncenter since it has a plenty of parking and places to choose from for food (or maybe BBQ at Brazos Bend State Park). Then after meeting, greeting, and eating we'll head about 10-15 minutes south to a road that Saved and I once ran on which has plenty of sweepers and offers a kind of touge like vibe since its a 2 lane road (1 in & outbound lane) with trees overhead. After that hit up Brazos Bend State Park for a BBQ (if we didn't eat) to take pics, socialize more, and allow any late people to catch up with the group. Following that, we could either head north towards Rosenberg or south towards Angleton since they both end near some sort of freeway for those who wish to leave and I've heard good things from these two roads from Saved.

Same here. From Spring semester till Fall, I have nothing but automotive classes and 3 day weekends off. My primary concern is having some sort of activity that is worth while; I don't want anyone to drive 200-300+ miles and come out to a dull meet.
Edit: Just a thought, anyone ever want to try a few rounds of paintball for a meet?

Oh yeah, he put down the 2nd fastest time of the day (an Evo 10 beat him) and by the end of the round the slicks started to develop bubbles in them. According to a friend who races shifter karts at MSR that tire bubbling is a sign of fully utilizing the tire's grip; which is kind of baffling in Saved's case since this was in an unprepped and coned parking lot.
I say a 2 day even would be great. Have a fellowship/meet-n-greet Saturday evening and on Sunday do the actual cruise/fun-run.
It's out of the way (NW Houston), but if needed a few people could crash at my apartment so they would not have to pay for a motel. I have a couch and the rest could just crash on the floor.

That is just a few miles from my house, and I live in the city.
more..

Best pics I could find anyways. I know some summer-tires-only kinda roads, but I won't tell where they are.
I'm sure the sparse population of people who live on a few of them would appreciate that fact.
I'd love to go to an Austin meet but wouldn't be able to make it.
How about the guardian's won't let me go due to distance excuse?
