Texas Fits, Anything goes thread
Man... sounds like I missed the fun... Did you guys meet up? I'm an hour away, but can't go anywhere tonight. I just got my sport bumper for my base model from the body shop and I'm fitting it tonight. Y'all could grab some beer and come watch... I'm sure it's gonna be hilarious! I'm taking pics from beginning to end so I can start my own thread. Nothing like one guy R&R a bumper cover. It's easy but awkward because of the size.
Hey, I just finished with the bumper swap. I'm going to post some pics in a bit. Got to download them from the phone and I'm going to take more in the day light. The bumper seems a bit darker than the hood/fenders but even the stock one did. urethane vs metal. It's noticeable in the flash...
Warms up? You mean sun comes out... It is nice this time of year... When the rain starts that will suck! I work weekends a lot, but if we meet up later in the evening I'm down. I'm in N/W Houston (249/BW8) but have Fit will travel! Just let me know if something is going on. I know some people meet up on Westheimer/Richmond but I haven't been out there in a while.
yeah clearly you haven't been to any of the hot meets. I much prefer a cool one. Maybe you should organize the meet hootie. That way you can schedule it for a time you can definitly show up. I know I'm not gonna organize it this time. And I'm sure marcus is probably to busy to set anything up.

You know its funny that you mentioned that, I have thought on and off about planning a meet but couldn't thing variety so that everyone could do something they wouldn't mind trying.
Judging from the previous meets, there needs to be 4 things. An initial meeting area, a social activity, cruise, and of course a good place for food. So far I've thought about doing either a typical meet and greet with a cruise and lunch or a friendly team rally.
For the typical meet...
I was thinking to start off in Pearland (roughly 15-20 minutes south of Houston) at the Towncenter since it has a plenty of parking and places to choose from for food (or maybe BBQ at Brazos Bend State Park). Then after meeting, greeting, and eating we'll head about 10-15 minutes south to a road that Saved and I once ran on which has plenty of sweepers and offers a kind of touge like vibe since its a 2 lane road (1 in & outbound lane) with trees overhead. After that hit up Brazos Bend State Park for a BBQ (if we didn't eat) to take pics, socialize more, and allow any late people to catch up with the group. Following that, we could either head north towards Rosenberg or south towards Angleton since they both end near some sort of freeway for those who wish to leave and I've heard good things from these two roads from Saved.
For the team rally, I haven't gotten too far in dept with the idea yet since I've just thought of it as I'm typed this...
So far the idea is to break the group down into teams and to get to try to match your teammate's travel time as close as possible. The twist is, each teammate will be leaving at a staggered times and leaving in clusters with rival teams. So for example with 6 cars and 2 teams, team A and team B will have a lead car cluster that leaves at say 1230, then the time average cluster at 1235, and then the following cluster leaving last at 1240. After the route is done and all partaking cars are done, we'll average the time of the 1st and 3rd car in the team and see how close it is to the 2nd car's time. Which ever team has the closest time to their 2nd car wins.
Again, the team rally is just an idea that popped up as I typed. It could be fun if we had a lot of people, but it could be tedious for the heavy footed. I've never scheduled a meet or anything before so if I do it would be something new to me.
