I'm telling you invest in a hammer. It'll motivate them.

Tell them you will bring in a special motivator as a means of teaching them what it is like to live in a shack with out electricity, water friends or teeth..... I'll pick him up down by Cherokee Shores where he lives in a condemned travel trailer and let him scare the hell out of your class.... His permeating aroma will be a lasting reminder of the hard times that can fall upon an electronic engineer from a wealthy family that developed a loss of interest in learning ....Maybe I can train Duke to pee on him Like Ringo did .

Duke is doing great..Even my wife thinks he is pretty and likes it that he isn't nearly as hyper as Ringo....After he drinks a lot of water I always put him in the crate for awhile before having him go outside to pee but not her... I went to town and he wizzed on the carpet but she caught him and he resumed doing his business outside I have been working with him some and playing catch.... He was very tired yesterday and not hyper at all but today he is pretty wild and only wants to run around or be on my lap....He's Great.

Aww...I am SOOOO glad! That sounds so cute. He will adore you and have so much fun learning and stuff--he seems like a very content dog and I think that is awesome. You'll have him trained in no time!

Just got a job offer from Discount Tire today...had to turn it down due to the difficulty and importance of the classes I'm taking at college.

Right, that job would have came in handy when it comes time for my first time running in a gymkhana... whenever that day comes... Oh well, they're still interested. I just have to reapply near the end of the semester.

Sounds more like mental illness, Coyote. Human beings don't live that way unless they are messed up in their heads. Alcoholism? Abuse? Depression? Schizophrenia? All good possibilities.

The guy was a straight A student and worked hard when I met him... His family was extremely right wing patriotic types and lived in a beautifully maintained house that the people that now own it were paid to let their yard be used in commercials... He was all pro military hated hippies and Democrats as long as he had a job at Texas Instruments and was safe from the draft due to the project that was related to national defense.. Drinking and missing work got him fired but Collins Radio hired him for work related to the defense industry but he was drafted about a year before all of the other guys in the neighborhood joined.... When he found that he was bound for an infantry unit he deserted, threatened to never be taken alive.... The FBI showed up at a trashed out house he was hiding out in with a very course and ugly woman... The agents entered carrying Thompson submachine guns and found him hiding under a pile of filthy laundry in a tiny closet and he was off to Leavenworth.... His father was a high ranking investigative agent with the IRS and pulled strings to have him stationed in Savannah working on Helicopters and his record expunged of all of his previous acts.... He did well for awhile but only because of his fathers ability to wield power and use his fraternal influence to have him released from jail for doing stupid shit like shooting up beer joints, rolling cars over on the Dallas North Tollway while pulling away from DPS cars in his Riviera GS... He totaled out some beautiful cars that he kept beautifully maintained.... I love the guy and have tried to help him succeed in a business that he bought in the mid 70s and stepping in and keeping him from getting stomped when he would let his mouth overload his asss when he was hitting on some redneck or biker's trashy bimbo... I even had cops release him to me to get him home one of those times and he kept running his mouth and ended up in a cop car and was jailed for impersonating an undercover vice officer.... His older brother is an International business man that has homes in Europe and doles out money from his trust fund to him that he uses to buy beer and guns with both of which disappear when he passes out and the low life people that see him as an easy mark relieve him of, sometimes after stomping him and tying him up..... His liver is playing out but his well rehearsed denial and charm has allowed him to manipulate the VA system as a way to acquire extra spending money and medical care while he is quick to denounce those that rely on the government for healthcare and get food stamps.... Pretty amazing to me that he is still alive... I have tried to help others like him in the past and there is no way I can handle being involved anymore.... For years I believed that because I can have a drink or 5 of them and not desire to become blitzed or drink more than 5 beers in a day a few times in a years time.... Alcoholics have to be the most self destructive people there is and so many of them have a need to take everyone in their lives down the tubes with them.... It hurts me that so many otherwise very good people have this hopelessly destructive affliction.

Yeah, that's what I thought of first when you described him, "alcoholic or addict." I have the background through my mother's family and I have to watch myself or I can use alcohol instead of expressing my emotions. That's something that's developed over the last 10 years or so. But not an alcoholic, not the disease.

It's not just the alcoholics that suffer - unfortunately, as you know. It's the families and friends who are dragged along with them, not knowing any better or thinking they can help. Obviously your friend has loved ones who have tried to help him but it never works.

Alcoholics can go to AA, their friends and loved ones can attend Al-Anon, even if the alcoholic never recovers. The 12 steps work beautifully for those of us who know and love alcoholics/addicts too.

People who rely on the oil life indicator are stupid. Tired of seeing those threads.
