The Post Whore Thread V.2
Its all good.
Unless you've keyed in the word yourself, auto-correct typically does more harm than good sometimes. For example, I had text'd a friend that I needed paper plates for a cookout and didn't proof read the text... I got a reply asking "Why do you need paper slaves?"
*insert head scratch*

I think I have a very big problem on my hands.... Bttrthnezrr3 turned me on to a dog that her father had to find a home for last month and he is a mess... Right now the mess is very messy and it's bad.. He found an almost empty cardboard grease gun cartridge of molybdenum graphite synthetic grease and ripped it up. The stuff is everywhere and he is covered with it.. He even has it on a cow skull he dragged up to the house and is chewing to pieces on the porch.... Dragging up old combat boots and huge skulls is kind of humorous but this grease is tough stuff that is used in CV joints and stuff like that and won't come off... At least the critters fur is mostly black or silver with black ticking but that makes it hard to see where I need to wash him....
He isn't as crazy as the one that disappeared but adjusting well as can be expected of a cattle dog... He is a big one and 13 months from reaching full maturity.. The larger dogs of a breed seem to be more laid back, I just hope he doesn't freak out over soap and water... He looks very sad sitting outside alone on the porch, I'm a pushover for these crazy critters.

Went to meet up with DSM to have him check out my car.
When I left the house, it was raining. For the most part, it was light rain/drizzle.
Afterwards, I went to grab a bite to eat. Came out, POURING rain. WTH?
Went to Costco to buy my Pepsi quota for the month. Came out.... drizzle. Hum... go figure.
Aside from the weather, I had myself a little bit of unintentional adrenaline rush. I was driving on Dundee from Skokie Rd... there are these railroad tracks not far away. I went over them at about 45 mph... HOLY FREAKING BEJEBUS! I don't know if I actually got any air, but it sure felt like it!

I *always* take RR tracks going as fast as possible...It actually minimizes the bumping. It makes me really crazy when I don't have a clear lane to get some speed up before crossing them and then I have to bang and bump over both sets of tracks like the scaredy-cats creeping over them like their freaking car is going to flat fall apart...GET OUT OF MY WAY I'm not stoppinggggggg.....

I take rail road tracks at 5-10 mph at most. When in my car..but I'm low with 12/10k spring rates, a front lip and an exhaust that HKS attempted to make as low as possible.

The problem was... I didn't realize how steep the area before and after the tracks were. I'd brake, except it was pretty much too late by then.
ADD to that, for some bizarre reason... the tracks (only one set actually) and what little pavement between them was LOWER than the outer pavement. As if something was pushing the outside pavement into that slope shape.
So, when I saw it, I was like "WHAT THE HELL?!? CRAP!"
I seldom do the fast food thing but the Mexican Telephone Company and Subway are where I usually stop when I am on the road miles from home and haven't eaten all day. I like the Nacho Supreme and Steak Burrito...
It would really make me happy if there were some real authentic Mexican food in this part of the state... There are just enough Mexicans here to make it difficult to find beef tripe so I have to kiss up to the butcher at the store I shop at if I want to make menudo.... Beef tongue is impossible to get a hold of without driving to a big city with stores that cater to the Mexican population... At least my wife can make real tortillas so it ain't all bad.
Subway has some good sandwiches though, the tuna is my fav in particular. Way better than places like Quizzos, which everything tastes the same... and is soggy as heck.*high fives* Nice choice in stuffed burrito. Those things are amazing with 3 or 4 packets of their fire sauce (red packet).

I would think that there would be a lot of good Mexican places down there... There was one intersection that I was stuck at while in Pearland where there was a flea market... Man it looked like Matamoros there were thousands of Mexicans coming an going from that place and inside... They had cops directing traffic and it still took forever to get out of there.
I don't really know what Pearland has to offer because that city is growing so quick that I can barely get around it due to construction and heavy traffic. Wouldn't doubt the traffic jam though, I barely go there because its a hastle getting around and if I do go its usually within a 2 mile radius of 288 every three months.
All of the Mexican food places in I've seen so far are pretty much on the outskirts of the towns or "blended in" with a cluster of buildings. Hard to spot, but they are around here... usually with horrid lots that can make 2WD pick up trucks scrape.

Traffic is ridiculous in Pearland almost all the time. The amount of traffic and amount of people that drive erratically in that city is dumbfounding. Everyone is either yapping on the phone, texting, or recklessly darting across lanes. There were several times that I've seen the main exits into Pearland being backed up from the signal all the way to were the exit merges from 288.
And it place I was talking about a while back as Angleton House of Tacos in Angleton off of highway 35. That lot gets worse and worse each time I go to it. There is a drop off from 35's surface to A.H.O.T.'s driveway and originally it was barely a 2 inch drop. Now, it eroded down to a 4 to 5 inch drop and I can barely make it in there even though I'm slightly taller than factory with the 205/55R15s.
So to save the hastle (and a $200+ lip), I just park at the pawn shop lot across the street. Easy in and out. LOL
