San Diego was about the most beautiful places I had ever been back in 1967... Long haired hippie chicks with guitars sitting in the grass in Balboa Park and friendly people handing out hallucinogenics to people just to put a smile on their faces... It wasn't so pretty when I went back a year later and was at the MCRD getting my ass kicked by crazy men wearing Smokey The Bear hats.

hahaha TC you're so hardcore!!

San Diego brings back bad memories for me.. My ex lives there and when we were together, I'd only be making the 200 mile round trip drive to him when we were fighting, so it was always a rough trip... got my first and only speeding ticket on the way there as well :s

I had to do the driving back and forth thing with my son for years.. The kid is 38 years old now and still thinks I should be driving back and forth to visit with him.. I wouldn't mind doing it if I felt better and he and his wife didn't consume so much alcohol...

I've never been any good at making friends, at least ones I hang out with on some regular basis.... the folks I hang out with today, I've known since high school ('93).

For about 5 years I worked as computer support at Truman college in Chicago, but haven't done computer work since I moved out to SD in '04. Now, I just do deliveries for my brother-in-law's restaurant (since moving back in '08). Its hard starting all over, at least the deliveries paid enough to get and pay off my Fit (and all the mods).

Hey Hootie...

This coming years freshman will take a new test called STAAR or End of Course but it's pretty much the same thing. I'm just glad I teach honors so I don't have to focus on the state test so much.

Oh ok; hopefully, this new exam actually tests students on things relavent to their grade level rather than consecutively putting like Algebra I and Pre-Algebra stuff for in the 9th through 11th grade math exams.

How do honors classes compare to regular, advanced, and AP versions in the same subject? Any differences in the learning material or some other fundamentals with the subject?

Agreed. Especally on the day were you're entire grade level didn't have a test that day but you still had to be there anyway.

Those days stunk on ice.

^ Lucky. We had to stay all dayum day. -.- Fortunately though, we were in the gym and were allowed to listen to our head phones and use our Game Boys/PSPs so long as they weren't excessively loud or distracting.

Ever play school sports or was in band?

Nahhh... I was in gymnastics for seven years and then a professional cheerleader for about three years, then tried out for the school cheer team and got rejected. Bitches! I was damn good too. I was just too socially awkward at the time I guess haha

Dang, 7 years of gymnastics? You must have started doing that while you were still a rugrat.

Cheerleading isn't bad either, though the ones at my high school creeped me out. The majority were anorexic girls that look like they shoved their faces in a bag of powdered sugar. Always making themselves appear to be "cheerful" (nothing against it, it was just obviously fake). [/shutters]
