WTF!? No seat height adjusters in an $20k car? No way!
I don't consider a car with a base price of $15k to be a $20k car. o_O

Does anyone know the e-mail address (I searched online, but found nothing) of a marketing/purchasing/whatever executive at Honda North America/Canada/USA? Heck, the practically impossible to get phone number would be a bonus!
I'd like to address this person (or people) about the decision to not include Honda's Satellite Linked Navigation System on the Canadian-market 2009 Fit, similar to the same stupid decision they made to not include it for the current Civic.
To the people complaining about the 2009 price:
Did you think the price would go down for the new model? The 09 Sport compared to the 08 Sport is $790 more (in MT). Despite this reletively small price increase, you are getting:
1. map lights
2. mpg gauge
3. drivers seat armrest
4. improved magic seats
5. side curtain airbags/active front head restraints
6. usb compatable stereo
7. 1' bigger rims
8. chrome exaust tip
9. leather wrapped steering wheel
10. more legroom/headroom
11. bigger seat (more comfortable?)
12. wider pedal spacing
13. more egine power (8 hp, 1lb/ft torque)
14. potentially better crash safety (with ACE construction)
15. more cargo space
16. better view
17. steering wheel tilt and telescope
18. stiffer chasis (+ rear anti-roll bar)
19. probable decrease in cabin noise
20. dead-pedal
21. more cup-holders, storage nooks
22. more rear cargo space

Do the back Allow wheels have the black dust cover I see a lot in cars in this price range? I can't stand those. I can't tell from this picture if there's the black dust cover, or if that's the drum brake.

It's what happens when you pit two dealerships against one another. Apparently there are lots of discounts to be had on these cars. As much as I love the Fits, they're entirely too popular right now, and since supply and demand determine the price for a vehicle, the best thing for me was to look elsewhere. Consumer Reports gave the Elantra excellent ratings, so I didn't hesitate.

Yeah, but now you own an Elantra instead of a Fit. Which one is going to retain the most resale value from day 1.

As someone who's owned two Civics ('95 DX and '98 EX), I hear you loud and clear. Hondas keep their value better than almost all the cars out there. My Civic has 180K and is in great shape, and I hope I'll be able to get the Blue Book value for it.
The Fit is a great car, and if Honda had offered VSA without forcing NAVI, I would be a very proud Fit owner. It's a shame.
I was wondering if anyone has details on options for the 09 Fit in Canada.
So.. apparently Navi/VSA is not available, and then I had a salesman claim today that:
1.) the 09 Sport will NOT have paddle shifting in Canada. I was rather taken aback by that!
2.) the color silver will not be available (only a dark gray).
Can anyone confirm/deny that?
Anyone have any recommendations as to a good Honda dealer/salesperson in the Vancouver area?
Numerous studies around the world confirm that ESC is highly effective in helping the driver maintain control of the car and saving lives and reducing the severity of crashes.[8] In the fall of 2004 in the U.S., the National Highway and Traffic Safety Administration confirmed the international studies, releasing results of a field study in the U.S. of ESC effectiveness. NHTSA concluded that ESC reduces crashes by 35%. Additionally, Sport utility vehicles (SUV's) with stability control are involved in 67% fewer accidents than SUVs without the system. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) issued its own study in June 2006 showing that up to 10,000 fatal US crashes could be avoided annually if all vehicles were equipped with ESC[9] The IIHS study concluded that ESC reduces the likelihood of all fatal crashes by 43%, fatal single-vehicle crashes by 56%, and fatal single-vehicle rollovers by 77-80%.
ESC is described as the most important advance in auto safety since the seat belt by many experts[10] including Nicole Nason,[11] Administrator of the NHTSA,[12] Jim Guest and David Champion[13] of Consumers Union[14]Max Mosley of the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), E-Safety Aware[15], Csaba Csere, editor of Car and Driver[16], and Bill Kozyra, CEO of Continental Automotive Systems[12].The European New Car Assessment Program (EuroNCAP) "strongly recommends" that people buy cars fitted with stability control.[17]
The IIHS and Consumer Reports are so impressed with ESC that vehicles cannot earn their TOP SAFETY PICK ratings without ESC.[18][19]
