Nice number! I wish I could come close to it. How many miles do you have on your car?

I estimated 53-55 MPG for the tank but I'll never know now. 10.877 gal in the tank and on the ground and whatever was sucked back up the nozzle's vapor recovery. I'm not pumping any more than $1 after the first click from now on.
Rich, I'm working hard to get that this fill. I just put a 1 gal fuel jug in the car just in case. May find out how much an 100% empty fit tanks holds as a bonus. It will be close.

Ever run this week has been about 50mpg and the SG reads
311 miles driven
6.46 gal used
48.1mpg tank
168 miles to 10gal are used
311 + 168 = 479 with .7 gal left
all I have to do is maintain that 50mpg avg

ran the A/C on the way home today, but drafted a slow moving TURD and got 49mpg for the 45mile run RAIN and hot ugg

409.1 miles and 8.6 gallons used at the pump at a price of $3.78 = 47.5mpg.

I am pleased with that since 210miles were on the interstate using CC or drafting at 65-75mph. While it has been in the 100's temperature wise, hell it was even 114 Degrees one day with the heat index.

Well I am going for 60mpg this time assuming the temperature doesn't get over 100 again. Here is where I stand now:

I am going to try and not exceed 55mpg if I can help it. I did a good bit of FAS or P&G between 40-50mph to work this morning and the temperature was in the High 60's to low 70's but this after noon it will be in the mid 90's. When I say P&G on this tank I will pulse up to 55mph going down hill and glide down to 40mph and maintain that speed untill the top of the hill.

Oh, here is a pic of FASing and drafting that I did a week ago:

500.5 miles
10.394 verified gals
$3.999/ gal Costco reg gas

48.14mpg

SG read:
497 miles
10.2 gal
48.3 mpg
correction factor is zero
SG to car/ pump error on miles and gal are less than 1%

I made it to the elusive 500 mile club today
Could of gone at least 50 more by my guess

On my next fill, I'm going to drive my car 100% normal, just to see what my methods add to the eco. A test if you will.
A/C on
Eng runs all the time even at lights
Run the speed limits
no 1 sec drafting
no coasting

Any guess as to what I get?

This one will be my 1st off the record fill as far as clean.

Mileage in the high desert

I can't quite compete with 48 or 50 mpg, but I have registered over 40 for my last 3 tanks.

This past weekend, we were again kayaking down on the Rio Grande...so we had 2 kayaks and lots of equipment. The temps were high 90's down there, and so A/C was on most of the time....even though the humidity was low...around 12%.

Over 324 miles, we got 41.38 mpg. Not great, but we demanded a lot of our Fit....going down to the river and up a few mountains in the heat. This weekend we plan on a longer trip to the 4 corners region.....with no kayak on top and mostly highway driving. I have been running on 40 psi, but I am considering bumping to 45 psi.

1200 miles on the car so far, and our average is 40.87. We love our Fit.

Driving 40-45mph in a 60mph zone is killing me, I know It must be driving people crazy around me. I will not go this extreme next time, I will more than likely just drive the speed limit using CC.

537km
35.79L used (7.88 Imperial gallons)
So thats a respectable 42.25 mpg Imperial or 35.18 mpg U.S gallons.
With the A/C running and all the wind lately I have no complaints.
My car just turned over 1000km total so it will loosen up some yet.

First fill up for me: 351 miles (this excludes the 9 that were on it when I picked it up), 9.6 gallons = 36.53 mpg for my MT S. Dealer filled it up, hopefully they didn't top it off.

I was very light-footed (for my type A personality), kept highway 65-70, shifted at 2500-3000. AC was on pretty much the entire time since I'm in Texas. I'm hoping for 40 once the weather gets cooler and the engine gets broken in.

40 mpg

i did 40 mpg from the dealer tank. my gas light came on at 327 miles, drove another 13 since i was on the PA turnpike and ended up at 340 miles. to my surprise, i only filled up 9.8 gallons, so i had a whole gallon left. granted, i've been driving like a grandma while breaking it in.

75% highway, shifting between 2500-3000 rpms.

Are you guys recording your milage on Fuel Economy?

There you can track you mpg, number of gallons, % of driving type. I just logged my first tank which I avg 34.9 mpg. I'm hoping for more as the motor breaks in.

Terrific numbers in here. I think I'll put some of the tips in this subforum to use. I just drive the way I always do, and only get about 32mpg. My morning commute is only 5 miles, though, so I only fill up every two or three weeks, but still, that could be every four weeks if I start yielding numbers like you guys!
