Idea for Google Maps on stock HU
I've recently been playing with an android app called RockScout made by Mirrorlink. As of now the only app it works with is Spotify but it allows music control through the touchscreen, RockScout acts as a middle man. So the other day the persistent Facebook chat head popped up as I was driving and I could use the app on top of Spotify/RockScout. I had some free time tonight and started looking around for a floating version of Google Maps. I found Popup Maps in the Play Store, it allows multiple floating Google Map windows. So I ran out to the car to give it a try and...there was Google Maps on my screen. You can also resize the windows to get at the music controls on RockScout. Now here's where things start to fall apart. As soon as I tried navigation the entire thing would crash to the standard homescreen. I tried every way I could think of to get navigation running but all of them either crashed or froze. I'm going to hunt around to see what else is available as far as floating apps but this may be a work around. Any one else have any experience with floating/persistent apps that may come in handy for this?

Ok, I was able to get Mirrorlink to work on my galaxy s5 (5.1.1.), and the RockScout app worked with Spotify pretty well. Album art is now up on my headunit along with track info. The UI conversion for Spotify is pretty rough, but it works.
The popup maps stuff I couldn't get to work. Half the time it doesn't even display a map, and that's before I've even connected my phone to the car.
