spent saturday morning with oscar sr. and ran the fit a couple of times on the superflow. seems like the abuse of stop and go traffic in LA was the culprit in making the weird dyno results. so off i go to flush the tranny fluid and add a tranny cooler.

...in the mean time all i can say is that the numbers are good. horsepower is up 25% and torque gained over 50%!

still, my car will see no other mods...maybeeeeee a high flow cat but i don't know what real gains i would see when i won't be upgrading any other part of the exhaust system. any thoughts?

Your exhaust only flows as good as the smallest component. Having said that, the cat is a major restriction. My guess is that you would probably gain 5% with a full exhaust-maybe more.

full exhaust yes, but i'm keeping this setup as sleeper as possible. i'm fully aware what that means in terms of restricting the full potential of my supercharger, but to each their own.

anyways, here's some money shots...

I don't understand the part about the traffic/stop and go abuse-- how was that effecting your dyno numbers?

And did Oscar Sr. suggest the tranny cooler?

the kit is doing its job and running flawlessly, it's MY fit that's the culprit. the auto tranny around 5800-6k rpm hesitates which results in my loss in power. i will say this, we did tighten the belt a little more and i actually feel that it delivers the power much smoother.

as for the tranny cooler, yes oscar sr. recommended that i get one mainly because of my commute.

i had a setrab oil cooler in my old all-motor civic and the brand does a lot in the nascar circuit, so i'll probably go with setrab again.

worse case scenario i might just get a b&m...you can find it under $60

The B&M works just fine in my car for the past couple of years now.

awesome! usmc you should post THOSE dynos!

and thanks for the pics, not only do they look good, but my fit is vbp as well, so its kinda like a preview for me.

i don't drive in too much stop and go traffic, but thanks to you and wave, i'll know what cooler to invest in.

Regarding the Setrab, how do you know which model/size to get? I think I want one just to be safe. Though doesn't the Fit already have an oil cooler? Pardon my ignorance.

This is the Trans Cooler I have:
Derale 13205 Transmission Cooler.
I picked it up at the Long Beach Hi Performance for $20.
The next one is Jan 11, if anyone is interested.
Hope this helps

well after what Wave said, i'm leaning more towards the b&m. it's a reputable company and it'll cost a lot less. i won't get the 70255 model however... thinking of getting something a bit bigger in the 70268, which you can get for the same price.

and as for a fit having a tranny cooler...no it doesn't come stock with one.

are they difficult to install? what kind of maintenence is required? what does it use to cool the tranny?
