KraftWerks Supercharger Kit Info v4.0
hi im a turbo guy with a turbo fit i dont get that ur blower is putting out 6 psi and u gained 23 HP with the turbo, 6 psi we saw upwards of 55 hp and now on 10 psi we are seeing gains of 85 to 90 HP. not to sound sound bias but for the money why would you get supercharger when the two turbo kits available are making better numbers for cheaper? im not trying to start a controversy, im just trying to probe the mind of a SC owner/buyer.

there is only ONE turbo kit for the a/t fit, and its not made by hks, (not everyone can be a baller gd
).you will never see the types of gains that you guys have on m/t fits, wether its supercharged or not. and the limiting factor is the tranny.
most a/t guys (including myself) use the fit as a daily driver, and just want to give it more oomph, without sacrificing reliabilty. A turbo could be reliable, but aftermarket turbos, no matter how nice, on an a/t car will simply not be as reliable as the rotrex.
and remember too, that the only other turbo set up for the a/t fit has HUGE injectors and an actual piggy backed program. this is a strictly bolt on kit, no exhuast, upgraded injectors, nothing.
the car runs smooth, almost any situation which required me to mash down on the gas now only takes half the effort. my kit was installed by mark dibella, and he actually had to shorten a bracket for the charging pipe and the pipe itself...all for clearance issues.
suprisingly the car runs at 6+ psi at peak? anyways i'm quite happy with the product but if the numbers don't seem right to oscar sr. & jr. i'm willing to stop by kraftwerks.
now for the dyno's...now let's all remind ourselves that not all dyno's are alike. the numbers posted on the kraftwerks site and on the first page were done on a SuperFlow WinDyn. mark tested my fit on a run-of-the-mill dynojet...
first dyno is straight auto transmission going...

and this second one is using the paddle shifters...

now i'm sure the numbers would increase a great deal with i/h/e or the injector upgrade, but i'm trying to keep this as stock and sleeper as possible. well...that, and the fact that my wife would divorce me if i spent anymore on this car
and no. i won't be making it to the meet this week, but maybe sometime later. i'll also post pics of the engine bay tomorrow...

i try not to be a numbers guy, especially since there are the rare occasions that my sub 100hp to the wheels fit feels spry, but i'm a bit suprised at how little it added, because your baseline IS THERE. the top dyno shows and increase of less than 10 hp and about 15lb ft of tq. the torque is welcome, but it really should be making more power. i would say its the dyno, but again, the basline is there.
whats really weird is the surge of torque when using the paddle shifters. 114lbft? that almost as much (or just about) as much as the old m/t kit with exhaust and upgraded injectors!
weird.
but more driving impressions! passing manuevers effortless? how about when you have folks in the car? all in all, congrats!
yeah my numbers are actually kinda iffy...enough so that oscar jr. agreed to check on the car and re-dyno it at the kraftwerks facility. so far mpg looks about the same, but of course i'm running on premium now. other than that, i've noticed i get a lot more interior noise (a constant sucking sound from the intake and anytime i let off the gas it sounds like a blowoff valve) and i idle now around 850 rpm. hopefully something's just a bit off and kraftwerks can resolve it.

i'm guessing thats what both of you are experiencing. the kraftwerks is quiet, but i don't think it was meant to be silent.
The sound you hear is normal. You are hearing the sound of the air sucking in, and the sound of the air being "recycled" back in when your off the throttle. So technically, the Rotrex is quiet, it's just the air isn't so much.
That's what I thought. I mean, it's not an annoying sound or anything-- and it's not that loud (I think it sounds kinda cool, actually). The guy who installed it knows his sh*t and said it was normal/the air and not the unit, per se.
It does. It now sounds more "boosty." At times it miss the old sound cause it sounded like a spaceship or some Hollywood sound effect for an electric car. But you should hear it after 5k to redline, that I love.

I haven't had a chance to do one outside of Kraftwerks.
