Anybody know how the intercooler on this kit will fit with a jdm front bumper, cuz i noticed in another thread that with the T1R kit the front mesh has to be removed and the intercooler actually sticks out of the bumper where the grill mesh was. I know the hks kit fits but i don't want to have to drive 14-15+hours just to find somebody to tune it.

If you're somewhat handy with a welder it doesn't take much at all to modify the piping and move the intercooler. I doubt the core is that thick.

I understand what you are trying to say though. The turbo's that usually come with the greddy kits are relatively small, for good reliable power throughout the powerband, not high numbers.

And to whoever said something about hitting 200 whp with or without internals in the l15, it's not that serious. The block is fine honestly, and I can see the stock internals doing fine for awhile around those numbers as long as a/f and timing is right. For a more reliable motor though, the most I would expect is about 180-190 whp. 8psi is probably as high as I would go on the t1r kit or something relative, at least if you want it somewhat reliable. Much higher than that, on any decent size turbo, and be prepared to break something at some point.

kraftwerks has a time attack fit that is pushing around 185 to the wheels i belive, but its on built internals and even they have said that with that much power, a dd this probably isn't.

edit: actual numbers were 193 to the wheels, and about 170lb-ft of tq to the wheels running the same supercharger as on the base kit, but tuned with k pro.

I spoke to GReddy the other day to confirm and they told me the same. ETA is October. MSRP is $4k BUT who REALLY pays MSRP?

Update: I launched the car pretty hard the other day; First caught, second caught, then 3rd didn't grab, put it into 4 and it grabbed. I pulled over and smelled clutch. I took off slowly and clutch felt fine... Drove home (about a 20 minute drive), popped the hood and still smelled clutch. next day, clutch felt less responsive. I brought the revs above 4k and my car felt like it was stuttering; This caused CEL. drove the car today, and clutch feels fine but still stutters above 4k. not sure what's going on but I'm pretty sure the car isn't starving. hopefully it's just a sensor. I'm gonna get the codes this weekend to see what's going on.

I'll keep you guys posted.

update:

I checked the code and it seems that my 2nd cylinder is misfiring. I think that my plugs may have been fouled or an Ignition coil/s have burned up from the heat of the turbo. This was a similar problem that BJ was having with his HKS kit before he added the beffy heat shield.

When I get a chance I'll take a look at what the problem is. I'll keep you guys posted.

Hella bumpin this thread. His car is freaking sweet. Then engine bay looks almost oem, I would hope so from quality like greddy. Oh and you can barely see the intercooler unless you get on your knees and look close. If he ever sells his rims I call dibs.
