it's not necessarily over revving in neutral

it's called a mechanical over rev

say ur in 3rd gear and ur at 6000 rpms and you engage 2nd gear instead of 4th. the l15 would rev somwhere around 8k rpms. which would blow your motor. even if it's for a split second it could do major damage.

i've heard many many stories of mechanical over rev on s2000. some people downshifted wrong and revved the f20c motor to 11k. boom.
motor = done

while mis shifting and grinding just wears the synchros in the tranny
and mis shifting and revving in neutral just wastes gas lol

Spoke to GReddy today and they confirmed that the fogs can be retained with their kit. They also told me that the size of the piping 50mm; not sure if this is just where the fogs sit or the the size piping for the whole IC kit... That said, I also spoke to Ben (AJ-R) and he said that 60mm and 70mm piping is used in the T1R kit.

I'll try and see what the size piping the HKS kit is using...

The OP stated that the kit is suppose to be the same turbo that's used in GReddy's Scion Xb's kit (TF-035-14GK) ... that retails for $2950 on their site; so i'm guessing somewhere around that? ... As for actual specs, all I know is that it'll come with a Cast manifold and the E-manage.

I wanna say 6-7psi with this turbo and no more then 160-180whp w/ stock internals safely. I may be wrong though.

kraftwerks made 190 whp with their supercharger kit, but it was with custom internals and not made for street use. i think it was at ten psi, but their kits are a lot easier on engines simply because of the design.

4.5 psi @ 122hp? how much horsepower do you think it will make if i add header, test pipe, cat-back exhasut, and bump it to 6 psi? i'm hoping for the 180-190 range. what size turbo are they using?

what would be the advantages of buying this instead of the t1r turbo kit other then keeping the fog lights?

The turbo used the TF-035.
The turbo is good for up to 250whp, Per greddy rep.

It wasn't included with my kit, THOUGH I did buy one from them and it'll be going in soon.

h/t/e - assuming that you also re-tune, I really think this kit is capable of making roughly 160whp or so

Benifits:

- The Greddy Kit is pending carb exemption.
- If you live in the States, shipping will be less and you won't have about brokage.
- T1R kit is almost $4k and this kit will run between $3k-$3.5K.

I honestly think that the T1R kit and the GReddy are VERY similar.

... I hope to have some pics posted for you guys soon
