Keyless entry kit and built in key with remote

I am considering installing the keyless entry kit on the 2007 fit. Since I need new keys anyway, I am wondering if the generic Honda key with built in remote would work with the 2007 Fit and the keyless entry kit.
THe key I am considering is:
2008 2009 08 09 HONDA FIT KEY KEYLESS REMOTE ENTRY FOB:eBay Motors (item 370216694062 end time Jul-17-09 08:26:05 PDT)

And the keyless entry kit:
07-08 OEM HONDA FIT KEYLESS ENTRY W/ATTACHMENT GENUINE!:eBay Motors (item 260426502031 end time Jul-10-09 09:56:03 PDT)

Unfortunatly, these keys and the system are not compatable with each other. They work on different frequencies.

You will have to use the remotes that come with the keyless entry kit.

If the frequencies are different, does that mean that the keyless unit in the fit sport is different from the fit base keyless unit accessory? What frequencies are we talking about? It seems odd to me that there are no compatible key-remote to the keyless system...

Here is some (not much) additional info. The last post states what you want to do is possible, but no info (or confirmation) is available.

To be completely honest, for the price that you are going to pay for the system and new key, and to have the key cut and programmed, you would be better off getting an aftermarket alarm/keyless entry installed and calling it a day.

Also, here is the installation guide for the keyless entry kit: http://www.collegehillshonda.com/ins...ylessentry.pdf

This might be helpful it is a response i got from Erik at Bernardi about the keyless entry remote.

Hello,

I did a little more digging on this for you over the last 2 days. I ordered one of the keyless entry kits to my atention, and low and behold, it is a key with the buttons built onto the remote. Each kit, contains 1 key that can be programmed.

Here is a link to the part: http://www.bernardiparts.com/Honda-K...0-TK6-100.aspx

I hope that helps!
