Had my 07 GD for a week so far...couple of questions / concerns
So I've had my Fit since last Friday...
1) The temperature light comes on pretty much every time I start up the car and stays on for a minute or two. Is this normal?
2) I don't think it's my driving, but every time I go from a stop, I barely push the accelerator, but I feel like I'm flooring it...
3) The ride is bumpier than I anticipated. What's the cheapest ways to make this better?
Thanks in advance.

No..this is not normal!
1) green cold light when coolant is less than 125 deg F, red hot light when it's overheating. It replaces the coolant gauge that I'd rather have there. If the cold light DOESN'T come on the first time you start it in a day, you have a real problem.
2) yeah the pedal is super-sensitive on tip-in compared to most cars. I added an extra spring to mine, DIY in the DIY section.
3) low-profile tires. Only way to improve is change to the base's tire size and steel rims/hubcaps.

1) The temperature light comes on pretty much every time I start up the car and stays on for a minute or two. Is this normal?
Absolutely. As long as the coolant temperature is less than the programmed lower limit or above the upper limit the light will come on. As soon ass temperature is in spec light will go out as it should.

For some reason the electric control throttle appears to get up and go quicker than most of are used to. Probably due to the required initiation resistance to get it up and measuring. You will get used to it. After of course initiating a few unintended 'drag' races at stoplights. (which you will lose).
3) The ride is bumpier than I anticipated. What's the cheapest ways to make this better?
Its a lightweight car so the shocks will be 'bumpier' than a Chevy SS. You could substitute softer shocks but you'd bump stop every other bump in the road.

Lowering springs and a few coilover sets do help tame the ride though.
Welcome to Fit ownership and all your concerns are perfectly normal for the car. The temp light will always be on until the engine warms up which is normally just a few minutes of driving. Check your tire pressure 32 PSI or slightly over will make a big difference.

Hey check the tire pressure for the bumpy ride problem your having. When they ship cars they set the pressure high as heck up to like 45-50 psi and the dealer is supposed to adjust the pressure when the car is delivered but they might have missed yours.
TEIN Super Compacts too if you can score a set. They ride beautifully but can also firm up for more aggressive driving.

So here's another "Yes your car is normal" answer!
The Cold light comes on even if the outside temperature is 100 degrees. It only stays on a minute or two in hot weather, but will stay on longer once the winter comes.
You will have to compensate for the jumpiness of the accelerator. Myself, I enjoy jumping off the line and beating whatever car I'm sitting next to! They always look surprised and dismayed.
This is a Honda! Road noise and a harsh ride are a given, unless you are in an Odyssey, and even then, it still has the noise, just not so harsh.
You didn't mention dash rattles, which I would expect since you bought a used car. Another little annoyance you can't do much about, except turn up the stereo!

Check out Polaski's throttle spring fix it is a simple way to add resistance to the pedal so you aren't always driving while trying to keep your foot from resting too heavily on it.... There are a bunch of us that have done it and it is something I wish that I had thought of and done when I got my car three years ago. Lighter wheels and performance touring tires like Conti Pro Contacts are the best thing that I did for my car's ride, handling, braking, fuel mileage and accelleration.... Of course I did get even better acceleration with a super charger.
