how's the power transfer on that clutch so far? i figure you had some heavy driving before, i'm just curious how the feel is now that you have a clutch that is more sport oriented and should be able to have some resistance to higher rpm shifting.

Yeah, I have to say...I drive the hell out of my Fit (though it is bone stock) and I shift a LOT; though half my driving is highway, the other half is Philly city traffic. I am at 96K and I think it is starting to go, but man...under 40k you must either ride the thing constantly or beat them worse than I do. For the record, I do downshift quite a bit.

Since there are no warranty issues related to this, please feel free to post how in the world you are burning up a clutch that quickly!

A little off topic here.....

When u guys are shopping for clutch make sure that u compare the thickness of the disc. Usually most stage2/3puck or 6puck clutch discs are thinner than regular organic sports clutch. Which YES they might feel really strong within that 1year or 20k miles, but after that....I don't know! Those stage2/multi puck clutches are made for hard driving BUT not for longevity in most cases.

And it's still a good idea to get good tires that can provide good traction. Good clutch & POS stock tires doesn't go too well together, coz power still isn't transferred to the ground efficiently.

so whats a good upgrade then for solid engagement and longevity? if you dont drive hard on these stage 2 or 3 clutches 100% of the time, then wouldnt they last longer then stock with the same drivin style?

If u do stuck in stop & go traffic for a bit. I will get the exedy stage1 organic setup & ditch the kumho ASX that u have. Get some Advan AD08 or Bridgestone RE11 if u really DO drive that hard.

IMO the stage2 or 3 clutch is still gonna go even u don't drive it hard. Those clutch are just made for abuse for a short period of time. So I really won't expect those to last long. There's nothing that's perfect.....

A close to perfect clutch like the ATS carbon costs u way more......

wow thats your install? nice

i guess its too late now.. but i had a 404 rwhp car, and i had a spec stage 2 clutch.. it was awful...

and i switched to Centerforce... and it lasted FOREVER compard to my spec stage 2 clutch. Iam never going to spec stage 2 again.. i think i had it in for about a month.. worst brand clutch i ever had.

yeah it's $1400 but it IS made for hard driving. I know some track whores & time attack guys who run that setup....

yeah either way. I guess the spec ones or Exedy 3pucks are nice to have. I will choose Exedy personally coz it's a much bigger manufacturer with better reputation IMO. But it's up to u.

yeah i ordered the exedy stage 2. like yall said id rather go with a known name. hope the spec works good for you. keep us informed of wear life. i will do the same once it gets installed. price was near same so it was just brand choice really. i still get the tires to squeel when i shift from 1st to 2nd, and barely from 2nd to third( but that really started with the engine torque damper installed). so clutch still grabin, but i want to see what the new clutch will feel like. plus i got my ebc pads and rotors to intall. yeayah!
