Another day that is too hot for me to get out and wrench on my car , 104 degrees and climbing.... There is a pile of stuff sitting and waiting and more to come but I cant get much done until it cools down about 15 or 20 degrees... I did have some fun with a guy in a flat black K20 powered Civic hatchback on I35 a little before 1:PM yesterday... My fuel mileage was 27.4 due to lots of misbehaving, A/C use and driving in heavy traffic.

Man I think its funny you guys complain about how hot it is. Try working on your car when its 115 out. Thats miserable. I have that problem of when I get something on my car I don't like to wait to put it on. It doesn't matter how hot it is

i was thinking the same thing. im a tech at a dealer that is an outside shop. alls i have is a roll around swamp cooler that doesnt work very good in temps over 110. so basically all summer. and u have to be standing right in front of it.

I have seen guys from Arizona and New Mexico bitching and like crazy when the temperature is in the upper 90s here... I have worked 12 hour days in 112 temperature when on the High Plains and it was comfortable to me. As dry as it is here this summer, we still have higher humidity here that you do.. Have you ever been in a dry sauna when some one throws water on the rocks? Believe me, come here and spend a week in between May and September or get into a 140 degree dry heat sauna and then walk into a wet sauna that is 120... There is a huge difference when you factor in high humidity.

^^^i was bout to make the same point...its been like 110 with a heat index around 115 and then your sweat doesnt evaporate to keep you cool...you just roast....

It is 106 here but 100 miles north it has dropped to 91.. My arthritis is killing me so I am sure the cold front with rain will make down this way in the next 24 hours or so.... We need 15" of rain to end the drought and that will probably occur in one day and wash out my driveway. This has been the hottest summer on record with 71 days of temperatures over 100... 119 is the hottest I have seen here this year and over 110 has been very common....

Ok so you guys do have a point. If the temps are the same humidity does make it worse. However you don't get as terrible dehydrated. I was born in Miami Florida so I know both heats well. The way I alway put it to people is which would you rather cook in a confection oven or a steamer. Both are going to suck. I guess my point is get out there and work on your car lol.

Just ignore me. I am very bored at work right now.

At my age and with the medication I have to take to deal with medical issues even the most simple task can be difficult.. Add to that all of the days where the temperature heat index has been over 120 degrees and the effects of morphine when combined, it becomes possible that I could die and not even know about it.... It is supposed to be in the 80s tomorrow so I might get something done..
