snow tires FTW. there is a HUGE difference vs allseason tires. where all season tires fail in 1"+ accumulation, snow tires drive like normal.

just drove the car to work today. nothing else planned.

There's a huge snow storm right now in Quebec, so having good winter tires is a must!

Super, SUPER important with such a lightweight car. Otherwise you are going off road! And not in a good way, either!

I dont think there is ever a good situating that involves the Fit and going off road. Snow tires really help I probable would have never made it through the snow that one night I was out. Is it just me but does the back end of the Fit seem light when on slippery roads? It seems like the back end wants to wonder around a bit and it makes it a little unnerving at times.

You're so right MNfit. I have no rear seats and my previous tires on the rear were pretty bald. It was pretty scary to go above 60MPH in the rain LOL. I could just feel the back end hydroplaning.

We got some snow here last night. So I'm cruising down 35E at 40mph because the freeways have been plowed. I come up to my exit and know they have not been plowed so I start slowing to probable 35mph. Well as I get off the free way I hit deep snow and bam my car spins sideways. With out missing a beat I spin the wheel all the way left and give it a little gas. As the car comes around I straiten out the wheel and just keep in going like nothing happens. By the way my car is still very low wo while all this is going down
Snow is fligng over my hood from plowing my way threw. I know if it was notfor the snow tires and fast reaction I would be in the ditch

Damn, and I thought the Thruway Authority here in NY was bad at plowing... nice recovery!

That sounds like a lot of fun.... I may have to get some snow tires and head north one of these winters.

Coyote visit

Trust me, stay in Texas... driving in the snow is not fun. And if you do come north, avoid Buffalo... they salt the hell out of the roads. That's why everyone's cars rust out
