Over revving or just new to Drive by Wire

Hey guys, just picked up a GD 07 Fit M/T. Not sure which GD it is. I'm a previous DSM owner of a few 4G63 Turbos. I have never owned a car newer than 98 and am new to the whole drive by wire.

My question is at around 5.5k-6k shifts, when I shift it over revs. I'm wondering if this is just my newbness needing to get used to the new throttle-clutch combo plus the ecu. Or if I have an issue with possibly Throttle body or air filter. Thanks!

It does that as a means of producing exhaust emissions..... An electronic throttle controller will take care of the rev lag when shifting and make the car much more fun to drive and get better fuel mileage as well.

Texas,
Thanks, to go a little further, I looked into rev hang and I feel this is a bit different as the revs don't sit but continue to climb after disengagement. Is this still part of the ECU controlling for emissions?

It's rev hang. Once you kick in the clutch and release the throttle the throttle opening is slow to change so the revs climb.... My wife's 2009 Forester drives me crazy doing that same thing.... It is worse when you are accelerating to high RPM before shifting to the next gear like on an entrance ramp.... I thought that I was doing something wrong in the Forester it is so bad.

Yup I had the same problem.

You should drive a newer Si and you will LOVE the responsiveness of the Fit's throttle in comparison.
