Squeaky Clutch pedal

Anyone have or resolve a squeaky clutch pedal?

When I let the pedal out, I get a nice squeak. Very annoying now that I noticed it.

Tried looking, lubing, and spraying a little around the pedal assembly, but no luck.

Well I went back and added some more lube and really greased up the spring. Was squeeking when I finished, but after sitting for some time, something must have worked into the squeek and it's quiet....for now.

It's the spring.

Mine squeaks a bit too, especially at the last 1/3 of its pedal travel before it's fully engaged (foot off), but it's no big deal.

Mine only squeaked when it was cold (around freezing). Had that pedal replaced on separate warranty issue. We'll see if this one does the same.

White lithium grease in a spray can. Go easy. Pivot points only.

I'm also getting the squeaky clutch syndrome. I can't see the spring. I'm just having trouble getting a good look in the well, let alone trying to spray any lube on the culprit.

Is there anybody with some pictures, and/or instructions on how to remove the plastic trim above the pedals so I have access to the damn thing or is that just unnecessary?

_____JUST noticed this thread is in GD section ---- no biggy considering the nature of the issue

There should just be a few tabs or clips holding it in, but I'll do some research on this and get back to you

In the meantime, I'm wondering if the clutch switch assembly is causing the squeaking? For reference, it's ref #4 in this Fit Pedal diagram

Just throwing it out there

I didn't need to remove any trim panels. I simply sprayed a little white lithium grease from a can w/ a straw onto the pushrod that the pedal pushes thru the firewall into the clutch master cylinder. Worked the pedal a few times and squeak is gone. Simpler than I hoped for. Not bad, first time it's needed lubrication in 195,000 miles.

I want to do this. Where can I see this spring? I guess I can access it from underneath the car and behind the master cylinder? Can anyone point me to a page from the service manual?
