Haven't experienced this at all during my night drives. Even with brighter bulbs.

Good question. It doesn't state whether or not this involves the US (No DRLs) and/or the Canadian (Has DRLs) for the GDs.

Is your A/C on when that happens? The dimming usually happens when the compressor engages.

I've noticed this since day one.
Just kinda let it slide because my bulbs weren't blowing out prematurely, I was still able to drive at night perfectly fine, and it wasn't much of an irritation to be honest.

*But I've never had my low-beams just outright stop working...haven't heard much squawk about that one here.

^^^ I have, in rare cases of people saying the independent fogs killed their harness.

This could be interesting. Maybe the indy fogs aren't at fault!

I've had the overhead light (that can come on when you open the door) burn out regularily due to I suspect the load on the electrical system when the AC comes on etc. I wonder if those that replaced the battery or bought voltage stabilizers experience the same issues. I ended up replacing the interior lights with LED's and haven't had issues since. Headlights still dim.

The US recalls, extra steps for projecct approvals, etc. seem to be a form of protectionism the US is reviving from before WW2 - all the companies having issues seem to be foreign owned. Just part of the fall and decline of the US empire as they as a whole turn more and more inward?

wait a f*cking minute...there has ONLY been 8 complaints of this happening?
i would not even think about it, much less worry about it.

you know how stupid people are, "the fog lights work but not the headlights!"
half of those idiots probably needed to change their bulbs.

if you wanna know how stupid people are when it comes to cars, watch the gas stations when you are filling up...i have seen a LOT of people park on the opposite side of where they have to fill up, the person gets out and walks around the whole car before they can find the fuel filler door..and then the funniest part is when they try opening it with their hands, when the release latch is inside the car LOL LOL LOL!!!

anyways, nah i would not worry about the headlights

It's an investigation based on 8 complaints.

Whether I, you, or anyone you know, has experienced headlight failure is pretty inmaterial. What's wrong with an investigation? If there is a flaw that could lead to unexpected or premature failure and it can be fixed I don't really care whether Honda's motivation for recall comes internally or is motivated by a government investigation...I'd just want it fixed.

Here comes the government? Fine. What's the problem? I'd hope the agency charged with monitoring the safety standards of vehicles sold in the US is trying to do their jobs. Rather have a potential problem caught after 8 complaints than after 100 and maybe accidents or worse....

If they investigate and find no flaw? Also no problem.

This is preliminary...this is no story.

Mine's done that since i got it. It seems to be when the electrically operated cooling fan kicks in that they dim, i figured it was a load issue on cars electrics. That group 151 battery is a tad small for my comfort but its lasted 4 years so far...

They are on the dim side, but otherwise, no real issues.
