Getting through the GD3's firewall?
I've looked for answers but haven't found them searching the forums. What's the easiest and most tasteful way to get a power wire through the GD3's firewall? I'd like to avoid voiding any warranties and HOPED to avoid just drilling a new hole. I've seen a few pictures where extensive cutting near to critical stuff was involved. I'm trying to minimize damage. Any help would be appreciated. I'm hoping to run a 4-8 gauge wire through to the battery.

side?
Which side do I attack it from, the engine compartment or under the dash? Does it push through or is cutting required? Thanks for the response. I just prefer a little knowledge before I dive in!

Thanks
Thanks for the info. I'm planning on a subwoofer in the passenger side rear corner so I guess I'll run the power wire along the passenger side door sills. Thanks again for the help. I'll get in there tomorrow and look for the grommet. I hate being on my back so at least help on where to start will save some pain (literally).

I drilled a hole in the knockout where the clutch would be (mine is an auto). Snap in grommet and all is well!!
Comes out right behind the battery, I ran a 4ga to my amp from there. GLW the install.

blower removal?
Did you remove the blower? It seems to block access to everything. I see massive bundles of wires running behind it.

If things are cramped down in the footwells, as they usually are, use an unfolded coathanger or some fishtape and push that sucker through the grommet (gently) then find the hanger in the engine bay, tape the wire to the hanger and pull it back through.

thanks
Thanks for the help. I installed the Basslink today. I thought getting through the firewall would be the hardest part. I got through in five minutes using the driver's side grommet. Wiring the rest and making everything look OEM took a lot longer. Thanks again!

100% SUPER EASY... I wasted hours trying to figure out the right way to go though the firewall.... drilling through the clutch pedal location (if you have an automatic) is perfect. Thanks for the help.
