advice on adding keyless entry

i want to add keyless entry to my 2007 base model fit. i'm looking at this Valiant MODEL 6RT REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM - JCWhitney
i do not care about starting the car, just unlocking the doors. i'm not worried about the lights flashing, the horn honking or anything else. it seems like it would be a pretty simple install.
is there anything i should think about first? is there something about the fit that will make this more difficult? andy advice or help would be useful.

Does the base model Fit have Power Door Locks?

Canadian Base Fit do not have Power Door Locks.

If you have power door locks then the above is good.

If not you will have to add power door lock solenoids

yes, it does already have power locks. that is why i think it would be a pretty simple instalation. as long as i can locate the correct wires.

Why don't you just get the oem keyless system? I'm pretty sure it would be an easier install since it's oem.

Oem would be the way to go at $110 (H & A Accesores / Collegehill honda)
Plug in the module and you are done.

If you still want to go the Valiant way I can dig out the wiring diagram for the colour code

Well crap! If I had known that they were going to stop making them like they stopped making the armrest center console I would have bought 2 and then made a killing selling the second one!

This product is not discontinued. I ordered one from Oakville Honda. $236 with tax. Part number ending in 100 no longer exists. It has been changed to 300. Same exact part. Different manufacturer. It's like matts are no longer 110 but now end in 310.

Hope that sheds some light. Cause I ordered mine.

So the new keyless entry Honda part number is 08E60-SLN-300? I just searched for that part on my local dealership's website and they did not have the part listed. Bernardiparts does not have the part number listed either.

Yes that is correct. I will be posting a picture after work of the box, part number and parts. Spoke to warehouse and they opened package and said the unit is there, the 2 remotes and the wiring harness.

By the way you must remove weather stripping and pull off key panel. Clips are on the inside not outside.

is 230 cad the cheapest for Canadians looking to add keyless to the LX 2007 Fit?

edit: I found this http://www.kijiji.ca/v-other-auto-pa...ationFlag=true curious if anyone had any issues with aftermarket keyless entry as opposed to its OEM counterpart?

edit2: shit the product is discontinued can't order it... but if i could it would go for 216 cad plus tax

Gd keyless entry

Added one of the generic kits found on ebay with simple lock/unlock buttons only on the 2 remotes. I wired to the 3 wires at the power door master switch in drivers door. Only down side is I have to lock all unlock all doors every time remote is pushed. Could not isolate just drivers door without wiring access pre relays on fusebox. Decided not to bother. Kit was ~12.00 dollars on eBay
