True, However if you look that was a list of what we performed for a hardcore 100k+ service, or a White Glove type treatment if it was going for any type of SVA test (UK)

So, is G ("suction filer") the "fuel filter"?

Not 100% sure as I haven't done it yet but that is what I would think it is because that part is listed as the filter in the diagram a few posts up (the one that is NOT a Fit one).

I just did a brake bleed and it wasn't all that difficult but I would recommend buying 3 bottles of brake fluid. Perhaps the bottles in Canada are slightly less than in the states but I just barely got by with 2 for a clutch and brake bleed. The honda brake fluid costs about 4 bux a pop so what's an extra bottle?

If I were you I would:
bleed the brakes and the clutch cylinder
gear:
-10mm and 8mm combination wrenches
-2 or 3 bottles of Honda DOT3 brake fluid
-rubber vacuum hose or PVC tubing
-small plastic water/coke bottle with a hole drilled in it (to accept the tube)
-optionally you can buy some brake cleaner to clean the area while the wheels are off.

drain and replace MTF
gear:
-2 bottles of Honda MTF
-a funnel + a piece of PVC tube that will fit through the end. I used duct tape to seal the funnel to the PVC tube
-new fill plug and drain plug washers (50 cents each)
-drain pan/receptacle of some form
-buddy

drain and replace coolant
gear:
-same above funnel + PVC tube combo
-Honda coolant
-drain pan

If you can replace all those fluids (along with the obvious oil changes) you're all set! I would try and adjust the valve lash though. I'm only at 76XXX KM so I'm gonna do it next summer.

Sounds like you do some nice work. You are right in the mileage range where a valve adjustment becomes necessary. Good luck it's not hard to do but a bit time consuming.

Well it's up to you but mine and other have had effectively no exhaust valve clearance at as low as 35,000 (mine).

Snap! I guess il have to look into that then. Thanks for the heads up. I really need a service manual before I attempt that so I'm still looking for one. Hopefully helms starts stocking the 2007 manual again cos the 07-08 combined is like 120$...

100k service coming up

Hey guys I have an 06 Wrx that is soon due for a 100k service. Currently at 93k I was planning on doing it in 5000km a little early as I'm selling the car off. I plan to get a workshop to do the labour but sourcing the parts myself. Cos I work at super cheap auto, I get a pretty decent discount on everything we stock and can get from suppliers. Hence me trying to source myself.
Anyways I was just wandering what brands were good for the different parts i've listed below of the service , apart from oem which I will use happily if I can't justify an alternative.
Green means ill be using, Red means open for other suggestions, and ? Means no clue what to use, meaning please help haha.

Engine oil: royal purple 10w40
Oil filter: ryco
Fuel filter: ryco
Timing belt: Gates racing
Water pump:Bosch
Cam seals:?
Crank seal:?
Drive belts: Bosch
Idler pulley: ?
Tensioner and seals: ?
Gearbox oil: Royal purple what spec do i need?
Diff oil:Royal purple what spec do i need?
Spark plugs: ngk iridiums
Upper engine cleaner: ? The hell is that?
Brake fluid: Penrite orcastrol
P/s fluid:Penrite or castrol
Coolant: Tectaloy

So yeah hopefully im headed in the right direction if not please advise. Any and all helpis greatly appreciated.

I can't find the valve diy? Also, do you replace gaskets when doing them? I've been proceeding through things since I started this thread. i still need to do the valves, the brake fluid and possibly the transmission fluid.

Replace the gaskets. (Others here will say that you don't need to. They say this because it saves money. Your choice.)
