Vibration when going 0-20kms

Hi everyone.
When going from a dead stop and I accelerate, the car vibrates /shudders quite violently until I reach about 20kms/hr. The only way to avoid this, is to go light on the gas and very slowly accelerate.

I've done a full tranny fluid change using OEM Honda CVT fluid, as I thought it was a transmission problem. But this did nothing to improve the situation. My fit is a 2001 with 90,000 kms, (imported from Japan).

I tried to change the coil boots but the only ones I can order are for the 2007 and later models (2007 is the first year fits were Introduced to the USA). The coil boots are about and inch longer than the ones on my car, so they won't work.

I'm lost on what the problem could be. Its only when I drive between 0-20kms.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Black3sr,
You think it could be the mount? It only vibrates, when going low speeds and going from a dead stop. I don't quiet feel anything wrong when going higher speeds. I would think a motor/tranny mount would affect all driving conditions/speeds. But maybe I'm wrong I'm part noob when it comes to cars.

I would think once up to speed it more or less stops vibrating. I could be wrong. I was once.

If it is real bad better have a mechanic look at it.

do a power brake to see if the mounts are bad. left foot firmly on the break and right foot tapping on the gas. if the mounts are bad you should be able to feel the motor rocking forward and back.

I wouldn't suspect the coilpacks if the engine runs normally over 20 kph. I agree with Black3sr, bad motor mount was my first thought. Other ideas: out of round or unbalanced tire(s) - more noticeable at low speeds.

I would check the wheels and tyres.
