Driver's side window not working after recall
Driver's side window not working after recall
Hello. The car was taken into my local dealer (first mistake) to have the power window master switch recall done. I was told that the window regulator in the driver's front door was shorting out and in need of replacement. After the $700+ quote I told them to just perform the recall. They say they couldn't get the window to go back up and forced it up for the time being.
I have since replaced the regulator on my own, but the window will still not functioning. The other three windows work fine from the master switch.
The only other thing I suppose might be worth mentioning is that they left the window regulator unplugged in the driver's front door when they returned the car to me. With out making mention of that fact too.
If anyone has an idea of what I can do, try, or pray for please let me know. Thank you.

Honda Fit uses 4 independent circuits for each window motor, each is protected with own breaker.
You need to expose the switch and identify wires going to the window in question. leave the switch connected
Next get a teat light with the 12 or 14 v 3.4 watt light bulb and hook it up parallel to the wires coming out of the switch.
If bulb lights up when you push switch up and then down, but window does not move the problem is either the wires between the switch and window motor or the motor itself.
if ligh is not on in any position or on either up or down only the switch is bad or the circuit breaker is tripped for this specific circuit.

If it was working when you went to the dealership, it should have been working when you left.
Sounds like they either blew the fuse, or damaged the wiring during the switch swap.
You should have demanded they fix it at their expense before you left.
Lots of luck getting then to own up to their error now.
