Sounds like you may need a professional to go drive it and get to experience the problem first hand.

If you haven't already, try pumping the clutch pedal 4-8 times the next time it won't shift. Does it shift after that?

I could be way out of wack here so feel free to tear me up in that case. I am almost positive the fits have a Clutch Delay Valve inside the master cylinders. Could it be possible that valve (pretty thin more than likely) Is semi-clogged or intermittently clogged and when it's "tough" to shift you are forcing something into there. Key bumping didn't work but the time it took to take the key out and think about your decisions in life (What I would be doing with the problems you are experiencing) and then restart it, whatever particulate could have settled back into the master?

Again speculation just thought process. Maybe replace CMC?

Rust is the biggest reason springs break in clutches, there is enough venting in the bell housing to allow water intrusion.. Salted roads make it even worse.
Here was my outcome.

Throwoff bearing was average but nothing out of the ordinary.
The springs really went out with a bang. I was in NJ when it happened. 7 hours from home!

Do you think this is common of clutches to do this or what causes this kind of failure.?

Spring failures do happen.
