GE8 1.5L Supercharger Kit.
Hi guys
Sprintex in Australia has released a supercharger kit for the GE8!!! The kit is complete and has already been installed on a number of tester cars in China and Australia.
I have already emailed them and the most technical aspects of the install is the piggyback ecu and putting a T piece in the fuel line. If you guys look at the product PDF the CAD diagrams clearly show an additional injector in the intake.
Here are the basic points from the product PDF.
- Suitable for a standard vehicle without the need for any additional upgrades
- Retains standard air filters and air filter housing
- Bolt on DIY kit with instruction manual
- Simple to maintain
- Can be returned to standard with no new parts required
- Extended service intervals
- 12 month / 20,000 km warranty
Available now for
1.5l VTEC generation II petrol engine
MSRP: US$2,995*

Regarding performance this statement was in one of the below articles.
“Mr Upton says the Honda Jazz trial unit in Australia - the other mules are in Asia - is a current model 1.5-litre V-Tec VTi model. "The car uses the smallest current Sprintex unit, the S5-150, to increase power by about 40 per cent to 100kW, up from the standard 72kW," he says.”
According to the below article the kit is being supplied to the China-based Honda joint-venture manufacturer of the Jazz and intended as precursers to either OEM or after market kits”
Here are the articles I could find on the tester vehicles by Australian journalists.

Sprintex are a pretty popular brand in Australia that specialise in these supercharger upgrades. I know I am saving my $$$, what do you guys think?

How far is Perth from Melbourne? Would there be a SC for A/T?

It sounds like good news... Priced like and sounds very similar in installation and power output to KWSC's base kit which feels like a factory installed unit and uses just slightly more fuel that stock... I am not familiar with the mechanics of their choice of supercharger though.

It is the old tried and true 2 screw roots type charger... If you want noise that will let it be known you are supercharged this is the type of unit that will do it.... I can't wait until I get to hear one whining away at high revs with a wide open throttle... The roots of old take a lot of power to turn but it's very likely this unit will less of a drain than they have traditionally been.... Real torque monsters at low revs.

I will contact Sprintex about the usdm fitment today.

Damn this thing looks so nice in their pdf document renderings, im amazed they made it to be functional with the stock airbox, why they did this, i have no idea lol but it shows precision.

I asked them about A/t fitment yesterday and waiting for a response.
Answering your question, Perth to Melbourne by car you are looking at
Distance: 3415.5km (2122.2 Miles) Time: 35hr 0min (approx)
Long distance couriers are fairly cheap in Australia, just have to shop around.
Our official postal service wont post anything over 20kg and they a don't have a fragile service.

I like what the video has to say.... It looks like it will be an improvement over the KWSC Base Kit and with tuning it should at least match and possibly out perform the high boost kit... It looks like it will be quiet too

well, looks like i'm starting to save for this. so have we got any solid info on this for internation use yet? i'd love to have one of these bad boys.......looks awesome, and i can't wait to hear the sound. price seems a bit steep......or is that a price of a SC for any car? my heart is pounding...i can't wait.

I have been trying to stay out of this thread but the one bit I will add is that this unit will be about as efficient as a Rotrex S/C, but with far more low-end grunt.
If I were to twin-charge (Turbo + S/C) a Fit, this is the exact unit I would use.
As these are better usually in the mid-range and low-end but this particular unit is going to be most efficient between 6-14psi boost. These are the style supercharger you see on big muscle cars and V8's where the intake and top of the engine stick out of the hood. These are what you see on topfuel dragsters.
This is a positive displacement blower of 0.59L capacity, and taps out at 22.5lbs/min (320cfm), or basically around 200whp. We are at the upper end of the engine demand spectrum though, and the 210L/sec model would be the one I would use if I only intended to run an S/C.
But that is because they take a good deal of engine power sapped directly from the crankshaft just to create boost. Which is why I would then add a turbo were I to personally go this route. So the S/C would take care of low and mid-range power and then the turbo would keep flow up top, as well as spool ridiculously fast because adding the positive displacement supercharger essentially makes the L15A a 2.1L engine plus whatever boost you add on top of that, and then whatever the turbo would add to that!
If you want to know what you are getting into with these Sprintex units read this .pdf, but note the compressor flow maps are in Liters per second as opposed to CFM, Lbs/Min or Kg/Sec so keep that in mind:
http://www.sprintex.com.au/sprintex/...chureSpecs.pdf
These are tried and true units which are actually sold as a factory upgrade on at least one Mitsubishi, the Magna or 380 if I remember correctly.
$3000 is a decent price for the hardware in my opinion.
