Hi Bassguitarist,

You have owned a few Fits and I have watched a couple of your very helpful videos on YouTube. What year model is the Fit you have posted here?

I am looking to install a hitch to my 2019 Fit Sport which I plan on using for a bicycle carrier, a vertical T-post to support a canoe and at times to tow
my Honda Pacific Coast PC800 motorcycle.

Curt trailer hitches hang down blow the bumper. Have you had any problems with it dragging or scraping? I have the HFP suspension package on
my Fit so I won't be adding air-shocks to my model. I doubt I will ever pull more than 1000 lbs including the trailer. I have the big truck and trailer for that.

Thanks Agile Fit

There was a post back in 2016 on the UK Honda Jazz forum, from a guy with a GD1 / GD3:

"Also it's a superb Hauler, this Is what I brought back with it yesterday, 0.6m3 of timber, I'm a hobby carpenter so have to haul with it timber all the time and ready made furniture to customers ,I guess the max I have hauled with it has been 900kg of paving stones, I suspect that it might have been a bit too heavy load for it, but it didn't complained much except the very slow acceleration"

There were pictures at the time, back seats folded down and large 400mm square paving stones stacked up in the back. No trailer, the whole load was in the car...

Since this reappeared on my dashboard. I’ll say what I ended up doing.

used uhaul ubox to move furniture and boxes. TVs and fragile items went in the car. Given that we averaged 75-80 mph and 24-27mpg with just that weight, it’s safe to say our gas bill would’ve nearly doubled. We also would have had to go much slower to an imo unsafe speed for these roads. Lastly, wind, Idaho was stressfully windy and I wouldn’t want a trailer with that.

all this said, I’m 22 and am not the best driver, so maybe more skilled drivers would be better but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Lightbulb 1500lb + across the country

Well shit, I had a roof bag with about 400lbs pushing down from the top, and slapped a harbor freight trailer on the back of my 08' Fit, loaded it with close to 1200lb of boxes ect.

The chassy was sitting low so had to move easy over bumps by she made it through the Cascade Mountains pass and Rocky Mountains pass in the dead of winter about a year ago. Oregon to North Carolina abd blizzards in Wyoming and Colorado, no issues. Just replaced by pads and rotors last month and they were in better shape then I was expecting, rear suspension was in good shape too, couldn't believe it but Hoda made one hellofa machine in the Fit.

East bound and down no worries, so anyone who says "you can't" can get stuffed, and to anyone who says "you shouldn't"... well you can live in fear if you want but in the meantime i'll be sippin mojito's from the boot of my 08' Fit on the sandy beaches of north cackalacky

All I can add to this thread is when moving, my Fit did not like the back of my car filled to the brim. Not sure what the weight was but it was hard on the car. The next time I move I will feel more comfortable taking more trips, than putting such strain on it again.

So, now the question is, what can our little fits carry? I've accepted I'm gonna get shit fuel economy doing this and will need new oil and brakes before hand.

I wouldn't be carrying much. We are just taking clothes, household items, and electronics (2 TVs). No furniture it's all Ikea shit.

We are looking at a 4x8 or 5x8 uhaul trailer.

Thanks to anyone helping!
I would use the "motor cycle" size trailer @ Uhaul...not as wide or heavy as a 4x8 trailer, I've used for snowblower, firewood, etc
