Hatch bike rack?

Does anyone use a hatch bike rack (like a Saris Bones for example) on their Fit? Mine is a 2011. If you do, what do use and how do you like it? I have a roof rack, but I’m looking for options. I’d get a hitch, but I can’t afford the hitch bike racks.
Thanks!

We've borrowed our parents Saris Bones a few times. Used it on our previous Mazda 3, and now use it on the Fit.

Given I don't transport my road bike around a lot - it's convenient. Used it on a couple road trips this past summer and had no issues. Once all the straps are adjusted there's no moving that thing.

Also convenient to find out you can still technically open the hatch with the rack and bike attached (albeit very carefully...)

Any reason why you don't want to carry it inside the Fit?
Mine is inside the back during the whole biking season. Easy to load and keeps the bike clean.

I’ll do that occasionally, but I don’t always want to take the front wheel off.

Thanks! I’ve been looking at the Saris Bones EX 2. It will also fit over spoilers, so it would would on my friend’s Outback, too.

Having had the bike in three positions (roof rack, hitch mount, inside the car) out of the four (did not like the hatch version enough to put a bike on), IMO, inside the Fit is the best/safest.

My bike fits across the width of the back seats, although I do have to remove the front wheel. It can also fit inside with the "60" side lowered and a plank of wood to hold the fork (again, front wheel removed) - there is room for a passenger in the front seat and one rear occupant.

And when I have to bring the whole family anywhere, the bike can easily be pulled out and secured to the hitch rack (or left at home, my wife tells me....but she is not an addict).

Apologies if you have seen this already. Although it is not set as such in this picture, the "40" side of the rear seat can be in the normal seating position and still have room for the bike.
