So will a 2013 Fit auto-lock the doors with the key NOT in the car.

I.E. You exit the car after a drive close the doors walk away and will the doors all lock automatically.

My fit does not do this auto-lock thing.

I don’t think they do. It isn’t until the push button start that they are capable of it.
Keep in mind though if the car is locked and you unlock it you have 30 seconds to open a door before it relocks.

So if you park the car get out close the door and walk away with the key in your hand the car doors will just stay open??

Yes they will stay unlocked

 

This is a car built before that sort of technology became widespread. In short, no, it wont lock on its own.
