Help Me Fix My Ignition Key
😂 I love the layout, MC.
Super glue should do it! Just make sure the battery is fresh and try to cover as many mating surfaces as possible. Oh, might be wise to do a quick wipe with rubbing alcohol beforehand on said surfaces.
I believe in you!

Thanks, Pyts. I'm not much of a handy sort of a guy, so your faith in me may be tested. By the way, I noticed that Postimages wasn't doing me any favors, so I uploaded the image from my desktop.
Part C broke off from Part E. I thought that I would insert Part A into Part E, then glue on Part C. That would avoid permanently gluing Part D and E together.
QUESTION: Before I begin, does anybody have a key that they are not using? Or does anybody know where I can get replacements for Parts D and E?

In addition, since the innards still work, couldn't you get something like this https://smile.amazon.com/Crosstour-O.../dp/B07HMT1TN7

A thousand thanks.

- buy a new key from the dealer or college hills honda and get it programmed
- buy a knock-off fob from amazon or ebay to put your guts into (did this with a garage door opener once 😂

- buy a battery, clean the stuff, glue the case shut along all the seams
It might be time to consider whether the key is wearing down anyways. like, if it gets kinda stuck in the ignition. But if it seems good, i'd prolly try option #2
How is this done? Who can program it and cut it besides the dealer?
A similar question was just posted and discussed on this forum less than a week ago:

For an immediate cheap fix, you can replace just your broken key case for $6.00-$7.00 off Ebay or Amazon. You will install the working key and circuit board/ chip assembly from your current key into the new replacement case.
If you need a second key, you can get it done less expensively through some hardware store's key cutting departments. They will provide the key assembly, cut the new key, program the new transponder to your car security system, and then it needs to be programmed, as per post #13 on this posting, to work your lock/ unlock function. They can do that for you as well.
